It really is.
I wasn't sure how it was going to come across live when I first heard it, but now I'm really hoping it comes to London. Sounds even better played live, amazing.
Also lyrically one of my all time Hip favorites, pure poetry.
"I write about words, I find treasure or worse
I watch the end of man and, and I dream like a bird
I remain aloft and I forget a lot
I try not to try and I can remember or not"
Fuck me.

f**k me.
That was fantastic. Great video as well.
He was reading the teleprompter for the entire song. Wasn't expecting that.

He's been using a telepromopter since at least the US 2012 tour. And at the show I was at, he still screwed up a song (Greasy Jungle). I think people commenting about the 'prompter/missing lyrics/lack of interaction and talking to the crowd (the most I've seen was is in 2009 on that last point, and the least I've seen is last year's Fully tour) this tour and reading too much into it. This sort of thing has happened for a while.

I know he has been using one for years now. It was just unsettling during this youtube clip that he was reading pretty much every line for the entire song. I know its a brand new tune, but I dislike reality.

I remember watching that Muchmusic special way back in 2000 when Music@Work came out. During the interview, Gord mentioned that he has a problem remembering lyrics, and he brought up a fan to sing Cordelia because he couldn't remember them. It definitely seems like it's an issue he's had for a long time.
I am not too shocked he relied on it during this song. It was recorded probably a year ago now. A lot has happened between now and then. I would imagine the band didn't rehearse as much as past tours. With this being the second show, maybe not as comfortable with this song yet. The result was still a brilliant performance of the song.

Couldn't agree more. :thumb:
Gord shits gold, I have never been bothered by the screaming or forgetting of lyrics. A hip show is so much more.
Machine rocks live.....sooooooo damn good
The prompter doesnt bug me that much
And I like the occasional rant
There was one tour where the handkerchief bit was a little over the top and became way too much of a sideshow...by the end of the main set, i gotta admit, i wanted to shove the thing up his ass
but all things considered, it really is incredible that this guy is performing...truly
has this been posted? a little dated, but thought Id post it despite

Also unsettling, for their first Ontario show in London, they played one fewer song - Only one in the second encore. First 8 shows, every 2nd encore had two. Hope all is as ok as possible.

The description labels this as Canada Day 1984 in Bath. That would pre-date any other live material we've heard by well over a year, and place this about six months or so after the band formed.
When the Renfrew show popped up, I said I never knew how much I wanted to hear The Hip's cover of Wolly Bully until I realized it was a thing. I'll say the same thing here about Smalltown Bringdown with the saxophone. Too bad there isn't more tape uploaded. I never get tired of hearing Heart Attack Love.
