Goal differential affects who gets home ice for the Gold Medal game.
Women's team Canada is kicking ass, i was surprised that it was 12-0 against the usually more powerful Russians. We are off to a good start and this will be good confidence booster to start of the Olympics.
Can't wait for the mens on Weds.
i didnt get to see the can vs. russia game, but he our goalie at least face some shots this game?
Well, it's nice to see the usual chokers again. Way to go Wotherspoon. :thumb: Don't worry, 9th place is a good finish for a guy expected to win gold four years ago. That is what tax dollars are going to? To perpetual chokers like him and many others in all honesty?
Unfortunately he didn't bring his "A" game to the Olympics for this race, I'm pretty sure he's got another one to go though in the 1000m, but the 500m sure hasn't been kind to him these last 2 Olympics. He did win the silver in 1998 in Nagano, but for you Tiger, I guess this is a case of "What have you done for me lately?"
To say your tax dollars are being wasted on guys like him is beyond ridiculous, but I think you thrive on controversy...so I'm gonna chalk this latest comment of yours up to stirring the pot with your usual crap.
Tigerthewhiner is back and in fine Olympic form!!!

For me, it is a case of top Canadian athletes who are favoured finishing 9th or 6th. If the athletes didn't bitch about needing more money I wouldn't be so hard on them though. My feeling is the more they bitch about money, the better they should do. It's that simple. If Mario Lemieux asked for 20 million a year and then went out and had a 40 point year the owner wouldn't be happy would he? :thumb:
i'm still in the minority that think the olympics should still be for athletes who are NOT PRO..admittedly i'll be watching our hockey team over there, but i still think it should be amateur atheletes..
but yes..wotherspoon choked once again...and we can have every right to bitch about that..
did anybody see that chinese figure skater take a nasty fall, only to regroup and finish the routine and end up winning silver!! that's olympic spirit
Bad day for Team Canada...The Spoon's gag-job and Forsythe going down with a torn ACL...to get to come to Torino and then injure yourself in training...I feel terribly for her.

that is heartbreaking..i heard her interview just a while ago, and it was really hard to hear her talk about it...so sad

Out of curiousity, what have you ever competed in? Competitive beer drinking? Sports betting?
Do you have any idea what it costs an athlete, personally, to get to the frigging Olympics? And you're whining about your personal contribution to his career of, what, two dollars and forty three cents?
How many hours of training, how many thousands of dollars sunk into coaching and travel just to get to the level where he can receive funding that only partially defrays his expenses, and then it's all blown in a few seconds ... and
you feel hard done by? You think he
owes you a medal?
That's quite a sense of entitlement you have there.
My advice is, you want an Olympic medal, get your thumb out of your fucking mouth, get off the couch, and go win your own.

Is it just me, or do you think he enjoys dishing out these verbal beatdowns
way too much?
Not saying that oftentimes they aren't deserved... and in this case, as much as I'd like to agree with tiger, I just can't. I think it's pretty incredible that these athletes are good enough to even be at the Olympics, much less those who are good enough to win medals.
Anyway, I don't mean to personally insult you skippy, but it just seems sometimes you play the role of verbal bully and go over the top in your comments. If my statement has offended you, then I'm sorry, but I'm just calling it as I see it.
