Whats the big deal...
it took 50 some years for us to win the medal in 2002. And us Canadians have a distorted view IMO, we think that Canada's the favourite, when truly, Canada had 8:1 odds of winning the medal... along with 5 other teams. C'mon people, I love hockey, I play hockey, I watch it daily. The winner of the Rus/Fin game will win the medal.

Congratulations to the women's short-track speed skating relay team for winning silver. Congratulations to Chandra Crawford, who came out of nowhere to win a gold medal in cross-country skiing's sprint event. Congratulations to the Brad Gushue curling team for winning in the semi-final game and going for gold on Friday. Congratulations to Kristina Groves for winning silver in the 1500m speed skating race. And most of all, congratulations to Cindy Klassen for winning gold in the same event, and for setting a record for most medals by one Canadian in a Winter Olympics (4) and for tying a career record for most medals by any Canadian in any Olympic competition (5).

Too bad hardly anyone will give a damn in Canada because our men's hockey team couldn't get the job done today.

Shannon Kleibrink's women's curling rink won bronze this morning with a decisive 11-5 victory. I tuned in just in time to see the 8th and final end. Kleibrink looked like she was in control today. Anyway, one more medal for Canada, with another guaranteed in men's curling, and Cindy Klassen with a chance to win her 5th medal at these games.

Considering that watching and playing hockey is the equivalent of going to church in this country, I don't think that attitude is ever going to change, but I agree with you. It's too bad that the men's hockey team pushes everything else aside, even though the other athletes have performed magnificently. I was just as disgusted as anybody else by the performance of our hockey team, but overall it's been an unbelievable Olympics for Canada. Our athletes have kicked some serious ass this year, especially the aforementioned Cindy Klassen. And hey, if it's hockey you want, let's not forget the job that our women's team did!

Just heard Brian Williams on CBC say this... 14 out of 19 medals won by Canada at the Olympics have been won by women or women's teams.

i also liked his speech about he's fed up with the nhl players, and hockey canada whining about the pressure to win...it was a very heartfelt speech, and i don't usually like the guy but what he said really rang true...

why why why why why is avril lavigne going to be representing us at the closing ceremonies...what a joke..

that's the only thing that could make it worse...honestly, i'd rather see celine there instead..avril will be an embarrasment..

They could have scored 7 in the 6th end. With a HUGE shot by Mark Nichols, and a big miss by the Finnish skip, all Gushue had to do was draw into the house to score 7. He admitted after the game that he was very excited and as a result, was heavy and slid through the house. We'll let it slide though, since Canada takes gold 10-4 in 8 ends!!

Also, Lueders and his four-man bobsleigh crew go for a medal today too.

What an Olympics for Team Canada!!!!!!!!! This is unbelievable...hopefully our drive to "Own the Podium in 2010" will only make this squad bigger and better.

If this years' Olympics doesn't fill you with a sense of pride for being Canadian than I'm really sorry for you. And for the Americans on the board, although there have been a few disapointments, your team has still managed to pull out some great performances as well....North America has been well represented in this Olympiad!

you don't usually like brian williams? how could you say that? he's the classiest guy on tv... oh well, to each his own i guess
