52% done, nothing downloading now though

Question: I have downloaded the Gronigen DVD which is 3.5 gigs and left my window open so I had uploaded over 4 gigs. Yet my stats still show my u/l and d/l numbers from before I started. Is this because I don't have a static IP with Sympatico? I was kind of looking forward to staying in the top sharers category. If I don't have a static IP this cant be possible correct? Appreciate any insights. Thanks.

Is there something in the Azureus prefs to setup to tell your tracker site how much we have upped and d/led? How does your site know what we have shared?

I used the Mac version of 'BitTorrent' and d/led and upped a lot of data and my info on the site is 0 / 0.

So, reading through this thread, I d/led Azureus and just quickly tried it this morning... Same thing.

Upper left corner under my username.

I don't get that Dana. I even logged out and logged back in too. I get my stats from my user profile page only: Uploaded 1.29GB Downloaded 0.99GB, even after I downloaded/uploaded the DVD.

Hmm, When I go to the user list and click on a name - it shows some people like me and Jenna with our UL/DL ratios and stats.
Then I hit Jerremys and it says zero - and PurposelessPlay, I could not check yours because your name must be different there.
I have a question now - it lists my whole IP address - and almost everyone else has their IP with xxx for the last numbers - how can I change that so mine does not show?
Ah Ha - or maybe I can see mine becuse I am me - can anyone else see my whole address?

i'm not uploading much either, my complete shows stay there "seeding" and nothing is happening

As the admin, I can see complete IP's of every users. All other users can see their complete IP only. The IP's of other users are disguised with XXX.

As far as ratios, and data U/L'd and D/L'd: the site only updates when you disconnect, and reconnect your client software. Live updating of stats puts a much higher draw on the MySQL database, and rather than risk higher fees, or getting shut down, I left that feature out.

Depending on which theme you chose, you might not see the stats as Dana does. Try changing the theme (accessed under "My Account") and see what happens.

In a few weeks some new tracker software will be available, and the hiccups we are experiencing should disappear.

For now, I'll monitor the usage, and once the new software/site is launched, the real crackdown will begin. :rambo:

If anyone has any suggestions for a new web address for a Hip Tracker and Hip information site, please let me know. If we choose your name, VIP status will be granted. (It's not much, but it's the best I've got!)

Nope can't see anyone elses but my own. Thanks for reminding me about that. I was going to ask that question awhile back but it slipped my mind.
And yes, I think it said PP was too long so my user name is soharddoneby.

First off, read the FAQ on the site of your BT client 'manufacturer'
Secondly, are you behind a firewall? Or are you running XP with SP2 installed? Either way, make sure that ports 6881 - 6889 are open and directed to your computer. This affects uploading and downloading equally.

I cannot tell you how to open the ports on your computer - read the manual, or the help topics. It isn't that difficult.

When you eventually realize that the PC and Windows are the problem, get a Mac, and I'll walk you through the necessary steps. (Although with their ease of use, intuitive functionality and unwavering performance you probably won't need my help.)

those ports are open, other downloads are downloading fine(from STG for example), and I'm not getting a Mac, hehe, don't like 'em, so I don't know what the problem is, thanks for the help

Hmmm... I've always wondered how someone can say the don't like Mac's? Have you used one recently? Why don't you like them?

As far as the BT thing is concerned; Jenna can only seed at a very low rate. That is why you aren't getting anywhere. Sit tight, and when I get home tonight I will seed the SRB show for a few hours to get you finished. You'd think that any one of the 19 other people who completed the download would still be seeding. cratch:

I don't leave my BT's open during the day when my wife is home...slows down our internet to a snails pace. I leave it on during the nights.

I have a bunch of things on the go right now. The Detroit DVD is on hold temporarily; I need to get my new computer running in order to handle the monster files.
