I banked on that. I searched on Wednesday and got 7th row, but, I thought I'd take my chances with the public onsale, and sure enough, I got front row tickets.

Anyone with tickets available that they want to get rid of I am interested in buying (2 or 4). I've got a large group going together and have 6 tix in section 105 so anyone with spares in that area would be best but we'll likely take anything since we're short a few for our whole group.

lol...You had me scared for a second and I had to recheck my seats. I thought we were going to have to fight it out!!
Just to be contradictory, I got much better seats in the pre-sale -- I got floor 6th row seats in the pre-sale, took a look at about 10:02 the best I could get was side view, by about 10:03 rear-view and by 10:04 nothing.
I figure the rinks holds about 6,000 -- by the time you eliminate the number of seats reserved for local dignitaries (opening of the rink, so you know the mayor, member of parliament ect. are going to be there), likely a number of seats for the contractors involved in building the rink, Frontenacs season ticket holders or sponsors likely have some reserved seats, and then the band (a rare hometown show, lots of friends and family) -- there are not a lot of tickets left for public or pre-sale.
This is going to be a great show, I am glad to be in the building!

All of the things that you listed I imagine would only account for a couple hundred tickets. And the promoter, management, the band, would be dumb to hold the best (front floor seats) for invitees, etc. You want and need fans in front of the stage, not guests as they have a tendency to come late, if at all, and leave early. And while they are there,they're generally not really into the show. Those empty seats are bait for the jerks in the crowd to move forward to get better seats (causing problems for everyone), and it kills the energy of a show.

I wish the ACC would think that way for selling Leafs tickets. All of the suits sitting around during a game, or seats left half empty 5 minutes after a period starts drives me nuts. Meanwhile all the people up in the 300 level are the true fans actually there to watch a hockey game and cheering. Not just there so they can say to their friends the next day "hey I had platinum seats to the game last night".............

The Platinum seats behind the benches are sold in batches of 10 (if memory serves) along with a private box under those sections - and since the tickets are sold, there's not much that the ACC can do about the conduct of the ticket holders... but I'm with you on this issue cochise!

You are correct Chris...the company I work for has one of those "platinum suites" as they're called, and the odd time I luck into getting to go. When I do I always make a point of being back in my seat before the puck drops, but I'm usually one of the few people that does. What they need to do is make an annoucement in the suites when there are two minutes left in the intermission or something like that so people know to go back. Most just wait till they see that the game has started on their tv's and then go back, and of course the ushers won't let people into the seating until there's a break in play.
Anyway back on topic...my brother was able to get a pair for me this morning. Best he could do was side views, but at least it will be close to the stage. :thumb:
