That's where we're staying as well :thumb:
thanks - i tried that and they only room left was $250!!
just a little to rich for my blood, but i found a room 10 minutes away from the arena. hopefully the cabs arent too busy. Tongue
It's on a Saturday night in a university town. Cabs won't be a problem. Trying to make yourself go back to a hotel will be the challenge. Kingston is a fun city and lots of people will be downtown that night.
Just to reiterate, I hate every single one of you going to this concert. Obviously, by "hate" I mean "I'm incredibly jealous, especially since I lived in Kingston for five years and was living in Toronto as recently as five months ago, and if it weren't for a stupid move out to Calgary I'd be there with you." At least you can't accuse me of not being the bigger man. Wink

ENJOY!

that's no reason to be jealous. I have a legitimate reason to be jealous, i say! (just kidding, fair game).

My reason is that i heard about it five minutes after tickets sold out, since i don't check hipbase nearly as often as i used to, and i had only heard about it as a rumor up until then. I currently go to university in Ottawa, but I live in Kingston, and it's reading week, meaning i'd already be there

Don't you get the Hip fan club emails?
Looks as though the radio station, K-Rock, has been granted naming rights the new rink.

I've never heard of a rink named after a radio station... should be interesting.

So what's the new, offical name? The K-Rock Arena?
I tried to find out... I don't think they've announced the official name yet.

The city has an online poll where you can vote for your favorite name: www.cityofkingston.ca/nameit

Here are the choices, or you can submit your own:
K-Rock Centre
K-Rock Place
K-Rock Arena
K-Rock can choose

And here's the Whig-Standard article about it.

Interesting that they quote the website/Graphic designer. Have you seen the site they built. . .Arg

:rambo:
What's the site address?
How much money do radio stations make? They're paying 3.3 mil just to have their name on the rink?
