Yikes!
Hey folks, has anyone else not received their tickets in the mail yet? Should I be worried?

Hey CB,

I would look into it I got mine a couple of weeks after I purchased them.
I got mine a long time ago too. Hopefully you have the internet receipt.

Krock has some pics up from inside the new rink. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.krock1057.ca/station_info/photos_interviews.jsp">http://www.krock1057.ca/station_info/ph ... rviews.jsp</a><!-- m -->

This is just one.
Is there a pre-show meet up planned for this? Where? What time?

I am stoked for the two Ontario shows. A small consolation for the fact that I have to be away from my wife for 7 weeks. :-D

I hope to get some good photos and vids like the ones in my sig.

;-)

The city has an online poll where you can vote for your favorite name: www.cityofkingston.ca/nameit

Here are the choices, or you can submit your own:
K-Rock Centre
K-Rock Place
K-Rock Arena
K-Rock can choose

And here's the Whig-Standard article about it.

Interesting that they quote the website/Graphic designer. Have you seen the site they built. . .Arg

:rambo:

Wow! A scrolling Marquee - I thought they died out along with the Dinosaurs.

Nasty.
I can't believe The Hip played in the Memorial Centre before:

Your linked image doesn't tell me anything... but they did indeed play the Memorial Centre on February 6, 1995: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://hipbase.com/archive/concert.php?id=111">http://hipbase.com/archive/concert.php?id=111</a><!-- m -->

It was a great show! I remember lining up over night in the halls of the arena for tickets.
It was working at first... its supposed to be an interior shot of the arena.
I'll try that again.

Small place to say the least.
I wouldn't be surprised if one of the reasons The Hip haven't played there since 95 is because they can't play there. Those beams don't look like they could support a lot of the equipment that the boys seem to bring with them.

Edit: I didn't even edit my last post, and now the image is showing up for me again instead of the OHL Arena Guide logo. So I'm not sure what's going on with that, so I'm just going to leave it.

I got up early and stood in line outside, in the snow, for tickets. I remember I was about three hours late for work. This was pre-computerized ticket systems, and it was a couple of...I'm going to say older people...working the ticket booth. It was a slow process. Great show. What I remember most was the video screen, and the images for Yawning or Snarling. If I recall, openers were Change of Heart and The Odds.

Every Kingston show I have seen has been great, looking forward to the next one!
Sweet Jebus, I havn't seen the Hip since Montreal 06.

Can not wait for Kingston! Hope they have some new stuff to debut!
Ten days and counting...Has anyone heard yet if there is an opening act at all? Or are we really going to be treated with an evening with The Hip! I don't know about you guys but I sure do not want to have to grab my wife put her over my shoulder bolt to our seats, spill my beer and hers for that matter which would then be all over me...even though it would be worth it :thumb:
MAv said earlier that this is like all other "Evening With" shows on the last tour -- no opener.

I really, really hope that the new barn brings the picture of the Queen from the Memorial over. At my formal during 4th year at Queen's, I looked up at to the photo and said to my partner at the time, "now that's why I'm happy the prom was here."

She shook her head, cursed a little, and headed for the bar. Which pretty much sums up a lot of our relationship.

Less than two weeks. I'm completely stoked. Merchant for the pre-show?

Cheers,

Pat
