I haven't seen it yet, but from what I understand is that he gorged himself on McDonalds, everyday. Is it seriously fair to blame a restaurant for that kind of eating behaviour?? I don't typically eat any kind of fast food anyway but it just seems unfair to blame a restaurant. I do want to see the movie though, just out of curiousity.
He ate McDonalds every day for every meal for 1 month, just watch it you'll see what I mean. Im not that crazy about McDonalds to begin with, seeing the movie was a real eye-opener. Confusedhock:

Cool, maybe I'll rent it tonight :thumb:
I want to go see Saw on October 29th when it comes out. I originally saw the preview from a post on this board a while ago, i'll see if I can dig it up. Looks like a pretty sick/freaky movie!
Here you go Drez,
Looks like one F$%cked-up movie

Yep yep. I remember when Lance posted it. I could hardly sleep I was so disturbed by it. I can't wait for it to come out. Looks like something good to see on Halloween. Weeeee!

I'll definitely go check it out now. :thumb:

I'd check it out for sure. Might not be everyones cup a tea but everyone I've talked to that's seen it, loved it. It's a great love story and it's something totally fresh, I've never seen anything like it. :thumb:

Let me know if you like it.

I just got back from watching Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and I loved it! What an endearing story, Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet play such great characters. I was scared Kirsten Dunst was going to screw up the movie for a bit but luckily that didn't happen. This movie could be a possible Oscar nominee me thinks.
grooveless touque Wrote:Mystic River was pathetic. A blatant attempt to manipulate and evoke emotions instead of allowing intellectual values to do it. There was no "thinking" between the movie's intent and its effect on the sympathetic viewer - it was meant specifically to make you cry for these people in their melodramatic emotional flailing (though Tim Robbins was better by half than Sean Penn) and I cannot give it any credit for that. It makes it pretentious despite its superficiality.

Wow, I completely disagree with everything you've just said, but that's cool. By the way, I love that Gord quote from the High Sierra '95 show. One of the best Hip boots ever!

Eternal Sunshine was fantastic! That was one of the most romantic movies I've ever seen. Very strong performances from Carrey and Winslet.

Oh and to answer your earlier question, I loved Donnie Darko.

It's easy to find people who disagree with me on that one. It just happens to be EXACTLY the opposite of the kind of movies I like. I like really sombre, low-key movies...

I am a huge John Hiatt fan so that line has always stood out for me. Actually I have had the Sierra bootleg for five years, but I've only been a Hiatt fan for two years, so it was pretty cool to listen to it again after I became a fan and finally realize "Hey! He dedicates a song to John! I never noticed before!"
I saw the latest Pedro Almodovar movie last weekend "The Bad Education" - anyone else seen it?
Just got back from SAW.

Not a bad movie. Had quite a Seven feel to it. and man it could have used Brad Pitt cuz Cary Elwes is a horrible actor and it shows in this one.

Regardless the movie was pretty fun if you like psychological thrillers.

The ending is awesome with some kick ass music.

Let me tell you how it ends...

So at the end of the movie this ......................................... Just kidding! I wont spill the beans.

Worth checking out though.

Of course it's not fair to blame the restaurant! It's only fair to blame the overweight lazy guy who ate all day long. The guy deserves to be slapped!

I don't think it was like this years ago. Nowadays everyone puts the blame on someone or something else.

Women blame men for almost everything bad in their life. They blame men for the pressure to look "thin" when in reality it's just women competing with each other that is the main reason. It's women who say they find Sean Connery hot even though he's 170 years old, but then they turn around and wonder why men are still considered sexy at an old age and women aren't!!!! It's not guys going around saying old guys are hot and women are not!!!! It's easy to blame the guy though. It's perfectly normal for slobs like Star Jones to call men "dogs" or "pigs" but men can't defend themselves.

Men blame others too. Men can't accept defeat in any walk of life. Men have built in excuses for every failure in life.

Back on topic, I thought Mystic River was alright but could have been better. I thought Robbins was good as he usually is and the rest of the cast was alright. I agree about Penn's over-acting. I think he's a decent actor but not as good as his reputation.

Your best bet to see a good movie is to just see if Tom Hanks is in the movie. Hanks is one of the best actors and has been in more good movies the last ten years than any other actor. "Road to Perdition" is a masterpiece!!!!! :thumb:
