I just exchange tweets with Rob Baker!
I will cite them verbatim, because I don't know how else to do this:
@tanz10: "@tthbaker @paullanglois101 I know you guys don't sell the tickets, but how does the band react to this tix debacle? Is there any reaction?"
@tthbaker: "@tanz10 sad and concerned. We make every effort to make sure it is fair - much beyond our control - We want fans rather than the connected."
For what it's worth.

We're taking our boys (10 and 12) to their first Hip show this summer in Ottawa.
All 3 of our kids saw GD at Hillside in 2010.

10 seems to be the magic age! I'm taking my 10 year old to see Toronto #2. Provided my stubhub tix are not fake, that is. If they are fake, I am taking him to see his father get arrested by Air Canada Centre security guards.

Given how this ticket fiasco has gone would ppl be on board with the band cancelling all the tickets and doing this over? This would take into account that they somehow figure out how to completely get around the bots?

I dont see how this could come across the wrong way.
If anything, the calculated and publicity driven route the band chose comes across the wrong way. As they are a business, I understand. As a loyal fan, I cant help but feel disappointed.

I wish it was worth more. Truth be told, even if it were I may be too down about getting shut out on tickets to realize its worth at the moment.
The old adage "actions speak louder than words" comes to mind. As I posted earlier, they have done complete ticketless venues for high demand shows before and it has went smoothly. Comparatively stress free buying process, scalpers nearly (completely?) eliminated, venues packed with happy crowds and their loyal following packed together close to the stage.
What have they done to make sure this is fair? What will the rows closest to the stage look like at this tour? I suspect it will be full of the connected, the wealthy, and those of us who have made the decision to open our wallet one last time to sit amongst them.

Well, got London, all three Toronto, and Hamilton during the presale. So giving all of those up... :censored :censored :censored :censored :censored :censored :censored :censored
And those are all for personal use. I ain't that kind of garbage.

I think there would need to be guarantees in place to make sure those of us who legitimately got tickets will still get in. I don't know how they could do that. For me this wouldn't be just about the ticket price. I've already spent $1115.09 on a likely non refundable flight to be able to make the shows I got tickets for. I'm not by any means a wealthy person and will be going heavily in debt for this but I didn't feel as if I had the choice - I couldn't miss the opportunity to see them again. I am sure mine is not the only similar story and I am sure for those of us who have committed to this already at great expense - giving up tickets wouldn't be easy. There would need to be a way to make sure we still got in.

I think the system counts Platinum and accessible seats
