Hoping for four shows. I'm optimistic about our chances: in addition to the fan club presale there's an Amex presale and two Live Nation presales for the bigger venues. Also I've got meetings at 9:30 Monday and Tuesday. Or, well, "meetings."
Given the nature of not being able to prioritize the availability of presale tickets based on date of signing up with the hip.com or hipbase or anything like that, we should all try and buy as many tickets as we can and sell them back to other forum members of our group at face value so that we can get in.

This is the only thing that I can think of that will reward the true fans with the ability to attend these shows. I will do this for as many shows as I can and if others are up to doing the same thing it will go a long way to making a true hipfan's wishes come true.

Let's do it.

Just pick a city and go for it, come to London I'll show you around.

Thanks dude. I might try London. Hope you are ok with hanging out with a grown man who might be crying like a baby by the end of the show.

Might be two of us. Its going to be an emotional night for sure but the Hip always bring their "A" game to London been some of the best shows Ive seen.

I'll be crying before it even starts.

I'll DEFINITELY be crying when I don't get tickets.

Great idea, except credit card entry is going to prevent that for us. It'll also prevent most of the scalping, hopefully. Could do it for local shows if yer gonna be there anyway, if that's what you meant? But me buying tix for a show I'm not gonna go to and hope to sell on here at face won't be doable.

This will only work if you enter the venue together. I will try for 2 & 2 for the shows I'm going for (London, TO x 2, Hamilton and Kingston). I only need 2 tix per show so as I mentioned earlier any extras will be up for grabs here at face value.
Guys, I'm so pukily nervous and I'm only gunning for one ticket (Kingston for sure, and Toronto if I can, Hamilton would be nice too). I barely slept last night. I am broken.

My friend needs 2 for Kingston but I'm going to try for those separately because it means so much to me to be there, I don't care if I'm sitting beside anyone I know. Don't know if I want them to see me bawl anyway.

Will the presale have the map to pick ticket, or we pick Best Available?
I am assuming there's no map.

I've been practicing on TM, and if one were to use the map, the captcha comes after you pick the tickets.
If we use Best Available the captcha comes before searching for tickets
Not sure which one would be faster, but in a presale this could be a moot point.

I recommend letting TM pick the seats for you. When using the map, they will not be held for you until you pass the security bot test.

When seats are first on sale, lots of fans will be clicking on same seats. By the time you pass the security screen, the map seats you clicked on will most likely not be saved for you. When TM picks seats for you, they give only you a set # of minutes to pass security test and to buy those seats ( if any are still available).

Thanks for that info, i did not realize you did not get the extra security if you let them pick the seats. I have noticed lately that pre-sale at least in Winnipeg have not always been the best seats (or even average seats) - not sure about other venues but at the MTS center, some of the Jets season ticket holders can pick up the same number of seats in the same section for any concert. So, my Daughter and son-in-law have two first row seats by the Jest bench (great seats) and for concerts they can ask for 2 or 4 seats in their section. They are guaranteed two but often get four depending on who is playing. But they get the seats in that section so I am not sure how that is organized with the other pre-sale seats available.

I am trying to get 6 overall, so i am going for 4 and my daughter will go for 4 as well. Any extras we get I will be happy to offer them up here.
I really have no experience buying through TM.. The Maritime music scene normally lets me trade a bucket of fish and case of Alpine for two tickets to any show. Can someone please elaborate on a little more on the step-by-step process on how this will be working tomorrow? And I also take it no one has seen the presale info yet?

i.e. will this likely be a redirect from thehip.com and then proceeding directly through TM? Should I get an account going with them now to be better positioned?

And 10 am local is referring tot he local time of each show or just Eastern time?

I would recommend setting up a user account today in TM and have your address, credit card info, etc already done, this will reduce the risk of errors of getting frozen out while you are completing the purchase. You can set The Hip up as a favorite so when you log in you will see the band and the tours dates at the bottom of the screen. After that, select and the rest is user friendly.

Each show goes on sale at 10am in the time zone the show takes place. So the Toronto show will go on sale at 10am Toronto time. The Vancouver show will go on sale at 10am Vancouver time.

I believe ticketmaster forces you to make an account with them during the "check out" so it's best just to make one ahead of time.
Does anyone know more about the 4 ticket per household limit. Is this limited to just that venue and show.

I am hoping to grab a 1 or 2 for Victoria and then 4 for Vancouver if I can. Does anyone know if that will put my tickets at risk with the 4 ticket per household limit?
Per show.
