Well I'm not going to go deep into this subject. I think it is kind of disrespectful that the band only updates thier site every time a album or a tour push is near. I mean this is probably why the Hip isn't huge in the U.S. I believe the more you put into your work, the more you get out of it. I'm not saying the Hip doesn't work hard or anything like that, but it's ussally the people that go the extra mile that get the benefits. It seems to me they need to get thier material out there more. I still love the hip's music and can't wait till the new album comes out but for fans that give thier hard earned cash and soul to this band. I think the extra mile should be taken. :thumb:

I think part of the reason for their lack of popularity in the States is the way radio stations and their managers control the airwaves. If a radio station doesnt like the way a band sounds, they are going to say they need something more "radio friendly". This is especially true with Clear Channel Communications. Their mindset is the music they play should be mass marketable and broad enough to reach lots of listeners in order to sell advertisements. Plus it is hard to get people to listen to a band like the Hip because they are busy people and most just listen to the radio because it is easily accessible and plays "catchy" music. I've burned comp cd's of different Hip songs for friends and been able to convert some of them to casual fans, so there is hope
Plus, I think the Hip have chosen not to chase after the industry and make the music they love to make instead of music they can live with and market.
