We will now look at the albums and how they stack up; we will leave out the EP because it's an EP (and we all know where it would and anyway).
So, vote for the album that you feel is the weakest overall and after 24 hours we will remove the album with the most votes. In the event of a tie, both (or more) albums will be removed.
Voting will end on Wednesday at 8:42am Eastern.
Happy voting,
Shane
Does anyone have chords or tab for Goodnight Josephine? I'd love to learn to play it.
Not sure if this has already been posted, but I recently came across a cool Hip podcast on iTunes where they analyze the band's entire discography. I have no idea who Greg LeGros and Jamie Dew are, but I'm liking it so far. For those who are fans of the Scott Aukerman/Adam Scott podcast "U Talkin' U2 to Me" (or their corresponding R.E.M. podcast), this one follows a similar format. Each album gets its own episode where they dissect the music and discuss what was happening in pop culture during that time and the impact the albums had on their lives, etc...
They're up to 9 episodes so far with Phantom Power being the most recent. These guys aren't nearly as funny as the two Scotts mind you, but I think they do a good job with their analysis.

Great tweet from Kelly Jones of Stereophonics yesterday. I can't wait for the show Monday in Toronto. This will be show six for me and the setlists they've been producing so far overseas have been incredible. Great mix of old gems and some of the more solid new tunes. Plus, a few choice covers (which could lead to a Hip song or two over here, perhaps). Anyone else catching a show on this all-too-short North American run?
Full marks to Sherpa for also sharing this on the Rheostatics Facebook page earlier. A great week so far for Hip-related content in Rheos-land.
Seems a bit quiet on the board, thought I might start a topic. I was just curious as to others thoughts on what song(s) did you find most surprising to become a "hit" and what song(s) were you surprised that never really did?
As for one that became a hit, I never really connected with "Fireworks". Sure it has a catchy riff and is about hockey, (which as a Canadian, how can you not like as a topic), but I never really understood its overall attraction. Not that its a bad song, but I never really got how it made it as a hit and a bit of a set list staple.
As for what didn't make it. I want to say "Escape" and "Emperor", but as much as they are two of my favorites, I can see how perhaps they are not much of a radio friendly song or maybe not "Tragically Hip" enough for the masses? The two that kind of surprise me that never made it much bigger are "Vaccination Scar" and "No Threat". I think both of these are great tracks with all the making of a big hit, but they both seemed to fade as quick as they came, never really hitting with popularity or sticking in setlists for any length of time.
I saw on the Reddit TTH forum that someone wasn't able to register a new account on this forum. Looks like the Captcha needs to be upgraded so it won't let users register. Is it dead?

Hi folks,
I have a few sealed and unplayed Hip albums on vinyl for sale. These are the recent pressings that were sold as part of the Complete Collection vinyl box. Here's what I'm selling and prices:
Now for Plan A
World Container
In Between Evolution
We Are the Same
Selling these for $23 each or will sell all together for $85.
I also have the cool vinyl storage box that came with the vinyl set. It includes a Tragically Hip poster and turntable slip mat. The box is unwrapped but still in perfect condition, and the poster and slip mat are unused. I just don't have room/use for it so I'd rather send it to a good Hip home. The hip.com Gift Shop is selling the box on its own for $90, but I'm happy to sell mine for $40.
If you're interested in any/all of this, let me know. I'm in Toronto and would prefer a local sale or pickup at my home if you're nearby. But I can figure out shipping if need be.
In a fairly tight race, IBE takes the most votes and we have our final 4.
