Ok Hipbasers, time to prove your loyalty.

I think if you're going to vote for a best of all time, you have to think outside of North America. Honestly, how many people in England or other Euro countries even know who The Hip are?? You mention the Beatles, Stones, Zep, etc...they'll know who you are talking about.

I hear ya, but its all a personal choice, its all in fun. I just wanted to see how most people felt about it. :thumb: If euros and asians dont know the Hip oh well. I think they deserve to be on the list.

i think that the best "band" at what they did was zeppelin...the talent they had at playing their respective instruments..unreal...however..for the best band that has had the most impact on music, and perhaps even the better tunes i'd have to say the beatles (definately no band in history has changed as much as the beatles did, and in such a short amount of time)

now...my favorite band..yes..the hip....can i have 3 votes?? witholding vote for now..must study bands more carefully...(man..i had so much other stuff to do today!!!)

This is absurd. Worst...poll...ever.

You don't have the Baja Men (Who Let the Dogs Out), Aqua (Barbie Girl) or even the guys who did the Macarena on there!! How can we be expected to take this seriously.

I'm right there with ya on that one. To this day, when I pop in my Zeppelin CDs, I still get blown away by the genius and unconventionality of all four of the members, particularly Page and Jones.

Oh...and no offense, but U2 doesn't belong anywhere near this poll. The Dead, The Who, even Phish warrant more serious consideration than U2, IMO. And if their discographies weren't so short, I'd be inclined to throw Janes Addiction and Alice in Chains in there, too....

Im taking some heat for the U2! LOL I love the Alice in Chains reference, they rocked! Zeppelin rules all the way, even thought I voted for the HIP! my heart said Hip, but the Zeppelin DVD that came out this year blew my head off!! :rambo:

Best band ever....The Beatles. I'm not sure how anyone could argue that.
