Has anybody picked up the new Barenaked Ladies album yet? I was thinking about getting it and wondered if there were any thoughts on it.

I was never a big fan of those guys. But in my humble opinion, it ain't the Barenaked Ladies without Steven Page. That's like Blue Rodeo without Jim Cuddy. It just doesn't seem right. Robertson should've ended the band and went solo.

The Gaslight Anthem- American Slang, June 15th, 2010

I don't think I've been this excited for an album release since WATS.

Josh Ritter's new Album "So Runs the World Away" comes out on May 4. This guy is really talented if you haven't heard of him before. You can hear one of the songs from the album at his website.

Apparently there's a brand new John Butler Trio disc that was released this week... why was I unaware!? Any other Trio fans here? I can't wait to hear it.

It's pretty good, not great. There's some interesting things on it, I've grown to appreciate Creegan and Hearn's voices alot more over their last two proper albums.

I think right now I'd settle for pretty good. They've had a rough couple of years. I'm sure as a quartet they are still just trying to find themselves. I'd say next album should rock. It would be awesome for them.

Good as Dead - Grady, Also there is a Big Sugar reunion show in BC, that would be killer.
Sloan - B-Sides Win (released Feb 12th, 2010)

Caribou - Swim (April 19th, 2010)

The Wild Hunt - The Tallest Man on Earth

...is pretty good. I didn't pick up any standouts yet, but it is a pretty good start to finisher. [Have really loved all his work so far for anyone who hasn't heard of him yet.]

Finally bought the new Drive-By Truckers yesterday. Excellent album! All Killer, no filler. These guys just keep getting better with age. Favorite songs so far:

The First Night of My Drinking
Birthday Boy
Drag the Lake Charlie
The Wig He Made Her Wear
This Fucking Job
After the Scene Dies
Santa Fe
