Picked this up last night. Haven't made it through the whole album yet (think I'm on track 13 of 16) but so far it's pretty good. I wasn't aware of what they put out as their first single; just found out it is "stylo" (track 5). It didn't really stand out from anything else on the album. So far the only song that jumped out at me, and I'm loving it, is "glitter freeze" (track 8 ).

Snoop dogg's song is pretty cool too. His voice fits well with their music.

Solid 4 out of 5

Looks like Gord's album is now being released on June 1st, 2010.
152 bucks for petty ouch
Sloan - B-Sides Win (released Feb 12th, 2010)
Bonnie 'Prince' Billy and the Cairo Gang - The Wonder Show of the World (March 23rd, 2010)
Crash Test Dummies - Ooh La La (mid -May 2010)

btw, I just noticed that Julie Doiron released something in December 2009 (Daniel, Fred & Julie) that completely eluded me. i'll have to pick it up..
Plastic Beach is my first contender for album of the year.

You'll be happy when you do. Such an astounding record. My review here:

CAKE is in the studio working on their latest. Their work may have suffered in the last 10 years, but it's still good, and "Motorcade of Generosity" is such an amazing album that I'm a CAKE fan for life.

Excellent news! I had no idea she had a new one on the way. I'm officially excited.

Get more excited, Her album will be released in June. From her website,

This story was originally titled "Sarah Harmer Rocks It," in the April 2010 issue. Subscribe to Canadian Living today and never miss an issue!

When you listen to Sarah Harmer, the singer-songwriter-environmentalist we've come to love, you feel her music in your heart. And in an industry that pumps out songs like candy from a machine, Sarah's not afraid to take her time getting it right – with the confidence to experiment and let her music grow. We've waited five years for a new album, which will be released in June. "It's very different from my last one. It's much more electric: rock/pop – it definitely rocks!"

She has a audio interview on her website as well. I'm pumped Big Grin

I hadn't seen this mentioned before, but that's great news. His songs are fantastic and was probably one of my most listened to artist of last year.

I picked up a copy of Rolling Stone today and it had a list of albums to 'look for' this year. Band of Horses has a new LP due out in May called Infinite Arms (was this already mentioned...) and a new LCD Soundsystem out in May and Mark Ronson out in June. I think most of the other releases have already been spoken for here.

I saw TTMoE last week in Paris. The new songs sound great (he played 3 or 4).
