I went to HMV yesterday to buy this album and they didn't have it. I had been looking forward to hearing it all day, so needless to say I was pretty disappointed. I'll probably stop back in there tomorrow to see if it came in. I'm hoping it was just a matter of their shipment being delayed. And yes, I know the album is streaming on certain websites and I could probably just download it. But I've always been really impressed with the packaging and liner notes on all the DBT albums, and I want to get my hands on an actual physical copy.

Giving this a listen for the first time later this weekend. I'm excited!

It's good. The advances were out last week on Waffles & What.

Just got into them a little bit ago when I actually found out Zooey sings. She is the fucking package I have to add. :rambo:

Broken Bells - Broken Bells

Producer Brian Burton and Shins frontman James Mercer. Picked it up yesterday (came out a week or so ago) and it's great. Has a kind of psychedelic touch to it and overall it's a pretty solid album.

I just got into M. Ward's music a little while ago, but I've never really listened to She and Him, is it as good as his solo stuff? I know Zooey sings on some of the songs on his last album.

I read this 10 minutes after I bought the album on Amazon and I immediately had buyers remorse...I also love their packaging, album art, and looking up from my chair I see that I have all of their cd's staring me in the face....now I have to buy it again. 1st few listens sound good. If you dig DBT...be sure to get Hood's latest solo release...a classic.

I prefer M.Ward alone, but I have been looking forward to this (i mentioned it in my post a few weeks ago).

It is amazing. It was streaming on NPR until its release...now I have to buy it.

New deftones is nice.

I just picked up the CD/DVD Under Great White Northern Lights by the White Stripes this week. I haven't listened to the live album yet but the documentary is great. It says in the film that Al MacInnis and Ashley MacIsaac are distant cousins of Jack and Meg. I'm not sure what to make of that given that they still claim to be brother and sister.

Edit: just looked it up, and apparently Jack and Al MacInnis are third cousins.

Agreed! It's probably one of the best music docs I've ever seen. That's gotta be the most extensive tour of Canada in rock n' roll history. Some of the places they played on that tour were about as remote and isolated as you can possibly get. I loved all the footage of the "secret" gigs they played in each town. However I was disappointed with the lack of footage from the secret Calgary show at the Cantos Music Museum, as I was lucky enough to be amongst the 30 or so people who were there to witness it. It would've been cool to see myself in a big-time rock documentary, but I guess it wasn't meant to be.
