I am extremely proud (and quite shocked!!) to say that I am the first to say that my 2 fave albums are without a doubt PHANTOM POWER and IN BETWEEN EVOLUTION.

Maybe I'm just not in the whole "dark period" right now, but after giving DFN a couple of heart felt listens lately it just doesn't give me the same joy that the aforementioned albums do. Granted, Nautical Disaster, could be my favourite track of all time (love the Baker outro solo work) but the rest of the album is just a little too glum for me right now.

.....maybe I should lay off the bennies, and hit the Queludes again!!!

Why does LBU not count?
No one ever said that.
How could you take away their greatest recording?

I made up the question and ANY album counts. I never said LBU does not count

For me it would have to be:

Fully Completly
Day for a Night

I think those two CD's showcases all their moods/styles really well.

i don't see how anybody could rank LBU over any of the rest of the hip catalogue, maybe over the s/t, but certainly not over the rest of em, but hey, ieverybody's entitled to their own opinion.

Good to know you're making the rules all of a sudden.

LBU counts because lots of folks have already picked it.

And yes, this is "our" opinion, not just yours.

LBU counts cuz it's an album.

PLUS, it's live material so it might already be considered by some to be better than the studio albums.

PLUS, it has *seemingly* the best songs of all the other albums.

PLUS, you stink. Tongue

I of course would not pick LBU because I think you should listen to a song in it's original form, I don't think live albums are good examples of a person's work. Too much variation and distraction.

But when it comes to The Hp, the live version always kicks more ass! When I listen to Henhouse, the songs sound empty because LBU is so much more rockin... and Fully off of LBU, and Nautical.. so excellent.

IF I had to choose... I would say LBU and ... I dunno... Phantom Power.
