Hi, I came across this auction by Artists Against Racism, where they have a signed Hip jersey up for auction.
I have no affiliation with the charity or the auction. Just passing along to fellow fans and collectors. I’m lucky to already have a signed jersey framed in my basement.
Good luck if interested.

Hello out there! Wanted to let people know if they're interested that I'll be playing a show with John McDermott at Hugh's Room in TO on the night of Thurs. Feb 7th. We'll each do a set with his guys, Jason Fowler and Mark Lalama. FYI it's a cool venue + John puts on a great show always. Anyway, that's it for now! Here's a link for tickets: https://hughsroomlive.com/event/john-mc ... -thursday/
PL
And this is from the ticket link:
Paul Langlois is perhaps best known as the guitarist of The Tragically Hip, though with two solo albums under his belt and cross-country tours to support them, Paul has been quick to make a name for himself independently from the band. Known for his powerful lyrics as much as he is for is tight guitar riffs, Langlois’ current solo album, Not Guilty, is a collaborative effort with fellow musicians Jeff Montgomery, Mauro Sepe and fellow Hip musician Rob Baker. It was the fact that Langlois is a huge John Prine fan which initiated a friendship with McDermott and his musical director Jason Fowler. This led to the two inviting Paul to record a beautiful rendition of John Prine`s, Speed at the Sound of Loneliness, on John`s album entitled, Just Plain Folk.
Cool as fuck. What a collaboration I would have never have had imagined. And apparently originally happened in 2005. Here's the Spotify link to the John McDermott album with Paul collaboration mentioned, as well as what looks another song with Paul on it not mentioned in that blurb: John McDermott - Just Plain Folk: https://open.spotify.com/album/08iSsiLi ... lRFBR-1I3Q
(Tracks 10 & 11 credit featuring "Paul Langois[sic]")
Hi everyone.... I know Hipbase is a great site with tons of info and live shows. Does anyone know of any other sites with live hip shows to download?
So apparently there was a documentary that came out in 2015 called "Al Purdy Was Here". Never seen it, but here's the trailer:

The soundtrack/companion album was just released in October 2018 and features Downie's "The East Wind" as well as a live performance from Gord reading Purdy's "At the Quinte Hotel." Pretty cool. The album also features songs from Sarah Harmer, Greg Keelor, Bruce Cockburn, Neil Young, Dave Bidini, and Leonard Cohen, among others.
Here's Gord's "At the Quinte Hotel"

Just heard Pegi Young passed away after her battle with cancer.
Never felt she got the credit she deserved for being such a major influence in Neil's career and music. I think without her "grounding" Neil may have ventured off into who knows where and may not even be with us today. It still shocks me to this day that they separated, they seemed to had such a strong marriage lasting decades.
RIP Pegi, your contributions to music and constant fight for Cerebral Palsy awareness and research will never be forgotten
New Year! New Bootleg!
Our next selection brings us to the Now For Plan A tour. For this edition, I'd we are getting into the nitty gritty of it, because this one is a long way from a soundboard. This is a fantastic show, however the recording is one that I would never recommend to a casual fan. But we are not casual fans here, eh!?
So without further ado, here is Scotty12's selection for Now For Plan A:
2012-11-06 - Rochester, New York - Auditorium Theater
Scotty12 Wrote:For NFPA Im going to nominate 2012-11-06 Rochester NY. Its not a delicious soundboard like some the recordings we have been blessed with, but look at the setlist the band blessed us with. Rare cuts seemingly out of nowhere. Done and done debut, after which it was done and done.

Via Sound Forge the volume was balanced, EQ'd with a slight mid boost and bass roll-off.

Any Hip-related resolutions or Hip-related prognostications for 2019?
Anyone thinking we get something new released this year, either from Gord, Rob, or Paul, or from the Vault? Anyone with any inside knowledge that knows what we might expect this year.
Let's get some rumours going through here like wildfire to ignite the reborn 'Base.

Anyone else there yesterday? It was really, really awesome - wonderful sense of community and musicianship and lots of wild collaborations.
Examples:
- Edwin and Jag Tanna, "The Scene"
- Chris Murphy, "Wonder Woman" (I believe - it's a new Big Sugar song)
- Tyler Stewart, drumming and singing "Turn the Lights On" and then singing "Dear Mr. Fantasy" and bringing down the house
- Maestro
- Dream Warriors doing "My Definition of a Boombastic Jazz Style" with Big Sugar
- LOTS of reggae
- Danko Jones
- Bedouin Soundclash (who I detest) doing, among other things, "Revolution Per Minute," which (in fairness) Jay Malinowski recorded with Big Sugar
- Safwan Javed from Wide Mouth Mason, though not, sadly, Shawn Verreault
Great night, great band, great musicianship!
