Just stumbled across this. If you look up Gord Downie on Spotify, it seems his personal playlists are posted there. None appear to be shared for listening but you can see all the titles. In case this disappears, I took the following screenshots. There are some interesting items, including love for Paul Langlois and Matthew Good (?!), as well as apparent alternate mixes of some Hip and GD solo.

Alright, so since Lance is no longer around here, and I'm just mod...

Who is supposed to help with some pretty significant technical glitches? I don't even know. I wish I had a better answer for the Base. cliff_hangar has been our latest registered user for months, Hipbase vet 'mark' can't get passed a captcha, and Hipbase hasn't been able to login on mobile for months.

I have no idea where to even begin, but I can certainly bet the mod controls on this site won't do jack to help these issues. I'm sorry I can't help further.

I had a problem with my password and ended up entering it incorrectly too many times. it now wants me to enter a captcha phrase along with my password but the captcha is not working properly. it says that captcha v1 is shutdown and it needs to be upgraded.

the only way I was able to post this is because I happen to be logged in using a different browser window but as soon as I close my browser, I won't be able to log back in again until the captcha is fixed.

Hi I am looking for a shirt from this tour. Anyone one have the white shirt with the band standing in in line behind each other with their arms out? Looking to buy it

March 2019 brings us to the end of our journey through the Hip albums and tours. For the Man Machine Poem tour, our Hipbase selector was britstones.
Hi Sean,
Here is my pick for the Man Machine Poem tour show.
I haven't seen this in the Hiptracker, so please feel free to share it there.

Edmonton July 30, 2016
Show #2 DON'T WAKE DADDY WITH FIREWORKS IN EDMONTON
camera type: JVC Everio GZ-HM30 4 years old.
format filmed on: Sandisc Ultra 64GB, Highest quality setting LS 720P
mono pod or other assist device?: mounted on mono pod
location: Floor Row 4, Seat 1

Second and last show for me on this tour. More credit card entry problems for my friends getting in. This show I was accompanied by my beautiful better half. Once in the building we ran down to the floor and got set up with a little time to spare again.
I was glad I had my Hip app open to the recording allowed notification. Security came about 1/2 way through the show (you'll hear it during Courage), and told me I couldn't record. I told them they were wrong and showed them the the app, they weren't aware until that point, apologised and went on their way.
I wanted to keep the band framed up, but wanted to enjoy the show with my wife as well. I was very happy to have the We Are The Same album represented as I caught all four shows in Edmonton on that theatre tour.
Very happy to have caught both shows in Edmonton with excellent seats yet again. Wished I could have caught the shows in Calgary as well, but with a wife and young family I'll take the memories I've gained.

britstones

PS.
My friend Frankie (and a male buddy) is featured quite prominently singing along, during the 'Kingston' Courage on the Long Time Running documentary.
Very clever editing
I have placed this show in the Hipbase archive, and it can be found here:

Wheatus covering My Music at Work

After chatting to Brendan, I found out he's a big Hip fan, and now for the North American tour, this will be part of the set

Alright Base, I'll be completely honest, the response to January was as cold as a Polar Vortex. We need to heat it up in February. For the Fully and Completely tour, its up to yours truly (oh no, not again). I leaned at one point to selecting Fully and Completely in the pissing rain at Ottawa Bluesfest (Very entertaining set, available in fantastic quality on YouTube), but I also cannot pass up recommending every Hip fan to listen to this show. When the tour schedule popped up for this tour, and I saw that The Hip were playing this venue for the first time, it brought a smile to my face.

There are some venues that demand respect and bring the best out in artists.

The Beacon demands. The Hip delivered.

The Tragically Hip
The Beacon Theatre
New York City NY
January 23, 2015

no opener: DJ playing records instead

taper: inez
location: row CC (3rd row) seat 101 (isle seat of the center section)
source: AT831 (SP-CMC-2) > SP-SPSB6 > sony PCM-M10 (wav, 24/48)
mastering (BLG): Adobe Audition > iZotope Ozone 5 > WavePad > xACT > FLAC

I have NEVER seen TTH live! - I was asked to drop in and tape by wooly143 here on dime, and considering how many time my ‘north of the border’ family mentioned them to me - I decided to go check them out.
I was clearly a non-Canadian minority at the venue Smile In fact, I’d say I have never seen that many canadians in 1 place outside of Canada. Great crowd, if you ask me - and everyone was so nice and polite! Considering the amount of beer+ being consumed all around me, I kind of expected things to go a bit out of hand with screaming, clapping, whoo-ing - ABSOLUTELY NOT. A bit of audience emotions at the very end, but otherwise, a very very clean tape! And what a loving committed crowd - I almost felt bad that I ‘lacked the historical perspective’ and couldn’t enjoy it as much as folks around me. Really fun, uplifting show!!
Also, considering that Gordon was singing and dancing basically 5 feet in front of me - I filmed some songs and have a bunch of stills if anyone cares Smile He didn’t seem to mind.

Many thanks to wooly143 and his friends for a drink afterwards - hope you guys have fun in Boston (and actually manage to get there on time considering the weather!).

Also huge thanks to BLG for his magic with mastering the tape INSTANTLY upon receipt :-)

setlist

01 Grace Too
02 My Music at Work
03 Escape is at Hand for the Travellin’ Man

07 Looking for a Place to Happen
08 At the Hundredth Meridian
09 Pigeon Camera
10 Lionized
11 Locked in the Trunk of a Car
12 We’ll Go Too
13 Fully Completely
14 Fifty-Mission Cap

I had to click on this about five different times before it felt sorry for me and let me read the story.

Gord talking cryptically yet positively about what Paul was gonna do in the future sounds exactly like something he would say.

The 2018 thread was a lot of fun so roll on 2019!

(The Twilight Sad - It Won/t Be Like This All The Time)

Huge Scottish post-rock/electronic music approved by the Cure and Mogwai. Sample: VTr

(Sharon Van Etten - Remind Me Tomorrow)

Her last few albums have been great and this might be her best yet. Folk and alt-rock with some electronic elements. Sample: Comeback Kid

More indie rock from one of my favourite recent acts. Fun, socially conscious, insightful, and sometimes nice and loud. Sample: Daddi

(Pedro the Lion - Phoenix)

David Bazan's first album with Pedro in 15 years. Classic indie rock about reconciling the past. Sample: Yellow Bike
