Stairway to heaven.....maybe?????

sabbath or zeppelin...um, i doubt it....i know the hip can pull off almost anything, but these are pretty far off i'd have to guess....it'd be like them covering enter sandman or hells bells.....
how about some smiths? imagine:

last night i dreamed somebody loved me beside last night i dreamed you didnt love me!
I doubt this will happen due to all the rights and royalties involved, but wouldn't an official live covers compilation be awesome? At the rate they're going, there's going to be more than enough for an album by the end of the Canadian tour! Even as a special edition of Live 10 or something. I don't imagine it'll happen, but hopefully the tapers will be able to catch most of them for us.

"There's a place called downtown, where the hippies all go, and they dance the Charleston, and they do the limbo......." Oh man, "Downtown" could have fit nicely on IBE.

how about powderfinger?

I bet the HIP grew up listening to and playing led zeppelin songs. I really think Gord and the boys would play a kick ass version of Led Zeppelin Stairway to heaven. If you start going through some of there songs you would find alot of mellow tunes I would not pick the heaviest ones. But I must admit Gord can really belt out some of those lyrics and is quite capable of performing some more aggressive music. The guitarists and drummer are talented enough to play just about any type of song especially classic rock .
But its just my opinion and I do have a lot of ideas that people may find a little hard to understand. Its cool!!!

Have a great day anyway!
I don't think any band would want to cover Stairway to Heaven. It's one of those songs that's so overplayed that nobody really wants to do it.

I'm prety sure that Powderfinger was the group encore at the 2005 Holiday Jam.

They've done it before, and did it at Holiday Jam... so I wouldn't be surprised if this made an appearance.

They played this in Edmonton the other night.

Brilliant. So Good. Unexpected.

Yeah, you beat me to saying that. Too bad there was no taping that night. "Going, Going, Gone" was so good that night. I hoped to hear "Powderfinger" but unfortunately it never came to light. Sad
What have they covered so far on this tour?
Come On Everybody - Eddie Cochran
It Makes No Difference - The Band
Summer Side Of Life - Gordon Lightfoot
I Can Only Give You Everything - Them
