I tried putting my bass track with Chris' guitar and vocals for family band and there is a timing issue. I just played along with the CD so if it's my file that's off, I don't know how to fix it.
Chris, did you use the actual song for the timing? If not, I recommend we do that in the future. It has to be the easiest way to ensure the proper timing. I'm sure those of you who have recorded their own stuff will agree, there is nothing worse than tracks that don't jibe.
Cheers
I had the actual song playing in my headphones and I sang over it...
I haven't checked how they sync, but maybe the two songs just start at a different time and by starting one slightly before the other you'll be able to make them work?
I can try it here if ya like....

I did that and got them to start out ok, but then they slide out of sync. I played mine over the actual song too sp I assume the problem is with my computer lagging small amounts during the recording. (I think it's mine that gets behind, but i don't remember and I'm at work now.) in any event, I'll try again.
I FINALLY got my new computer and FINALLY got my new soundcard and FINALLY got around to recording. I just hooked everything up last night and threw together a garbage version on Family Band. It sounds terrible, but it's better than nothing.
I went to upload it and couldn't. I was in my folder and it's a WAV file so there shouldn't be any problems there. I'm not sure exactly how big it is because I'm at work now, but I'm pretty sure Chris said a standard WAV should be fine. After about 10 minutes of thinking I get returned to this root menu and my file isn't there.
Can anyone help me out?
There is a file limit of 100MB, but other than that everything is fair game.
did the fan band site change? Its empty right now. Did I miss something while I was gone?
Someone deleted everything...
But I've got a back-up on my hard drive and will get it reset this afternoon.

Really? Who would do such a thing? Should we reissue passwords?
Fixed.
It was a glitch in the code (created by me making changes) that erased everything... I found the glitch, fixed it, and uploaded everything again.
oh ok cool. Good work! You're one smart guy
When you have a song completed post it somewhere so I can hear it.
Singing the Hip is what I do for fun !
no man, it just needs a breath of fresh air...I'm back and rejuvenated so I'm up for doing more... just bbe nice to find someone to start mixing it all into tracks.
