I don't usually stick up for TV personalities, but what the hell. Pierre McGuire played professional hockey in Europe, worked in the NHL behind the bench, the front office (assistant GM) and was an NHL scout. I'd say he's more then qualified to do commentary for Junior hockey.
I did get a little tired of him calling that one Detroit draft pick playing for Canada the next Maltby/Draper every game, but hey, the guys passionate about the hockey.
The guy I can't stand is that old St. Louis goalie, Greg Millen who does the HNIC commentary, that guy sucks.
