I wonder if they would ever give us a "discount" if we were to go through with the "hipbase private show?"

There was a list posted here before that showed their fees to be significantly less - I think it was $30K.
Perhaps the "difficulties" in getting everything up to Whitehorse might have bumped that price up.
That being said, once I win the lottery this week, I know where my first quarter mil is going...

I would think that it has to be less than 250k, especially considering some of the smaller venues they play in the U.S., such as Syracuse, Rochester, etc. Maybe this guy has his facts wrong, it would'nt be the first time. However, the 250k would be a reasonable number for shows in places Toronto. Who knows?

Nope, that's about right. I used to work for my school's campus entertainment agency, and when we looked into booking the Hip we were quoted the exact same price. (I'm assuming that's the going rate for Canadian shows, anyway; they probably don't command as much south of the border.)
Well then, we can have the show at my house...it's not oo far south of the border.

The site isn't listing their cost now...
The Chicago HoB holds 1,000. At a ticket price of $28.50, that's $28,500. Would the HoB pay $250K for revenue (not profit) of a little more than 1/10 the cost? Right.

I would think that there might be a payscale associated with their rates. $250,000 would be right for a large hockey arena. The going ticket price is about $50+ and you would only need $5,000 people to cover that $250 grand.
I would think that small venues in the states would not be charged $250 grand because of some other things that the band might take into consideration, i.e: exposure to a new market.
Either way, us kids in Canada won't be having them in our back yard anytime soon. Although I am putting my money on Pat winning the lottery soon! :thumb:
