What a botched job.. Confusedhock:
I though Mick's pants were way more offensive than Janet Jackson's nipple. There should be rules against that kind of stuff.
Considering they are all (except Wood) in their mid sixties what did you really expect? I dont know what they could have done differently to satisfy you, it was on TV and in a huge stadium how good could it really sound. The fact that they can still play and sell out shows around the world is enough reason to give them credit despite the sound. Plus the sound in Ford Field cant be good for any band, in spite of all that I didnt think it was that bad. The new song "Rough Justice" sounded the best, Satisfaction and Start Me Up were okay. I wish they would play other songs, they have such a huge catalogue to pull from, I think Gimme Shelter and Its Only Rock and Roll would have been better. Maybe they should of had Kiss do the show instead, it was in Detroit Rock City after all. I dont know why Im defending the Stones so much, Im not a huge fan, but they are legends and deserve some respect I guess. Would anybody here complain if the Hip played into their 60's and still made good music and put on good shows? I think the Stones still do.

And I agree Mick was showing waaay too much for my liking. Someone tell Jagger he's not 18 anymore!
At this point, the Stones are ghastly caricatures of themselves, who don't sound good anymore, who don't make good music anymore (when only half of their entire catalogue was ever "good" in the first place) and are just coasting on legend and mystique alone.

I respect the Stones' contribution to pop rock. I have no respect for watching the shell of what used to be a great band painfully fail at reconstructing the glories of its past, wringing every last dollar it can from itself.

Actually, it makes me lose some of the respect i once had for them....

Soooo, that means they can play stadiums and charge $150 per ticket?
Hmm... I used to be a big Stones fan but then I grew up. I don't hate them or anything but I stopped being interested in their new stuff quite a while ago. I suppose if you're a diehard Stones fan, you might want to hear the new stuff.

I will reserve judgement on Mick's pants (I was more of a Keith Richards girl anyway) because I didn't watch the Stones yesterday. It has to be a pretty special half-time show for me to tune in to a "big game." I watched a bit of the Grey Cup to catch the Hip, but the Stones didn't interest me at all.
The Stones still have it, y'all can hate on them as much as you want, but you only wish hope and pray in your wildest dreams that our beloved hip will still be able to kick it like that in their 60's...Mick's the shit, one of the greatest frontmen ever, you guys are some fussy picky bitchy motherfuckers sometimes....F U C K!
Wow. Darkest Canuck. Take a chill pill, man.
They sucked!

I didn't think they were bad at all, not their best, but certainly not horrible.
That said, i saw the Rolling Stones live in Moncton this fall...best fucking concert i've ever been to in my life! OLP were pretty good, the Hip were awesome as always...but the Stones just blew both of them (as well as Maroon 5 & Les Trois Accords) off the stage!
I wouldn't say it was an embarassment, but nothing to write home about certainly.

I too, would have preferred Gimme Shelter. But Start Me Up and Satisfaction were as sure-fire as Al Michaels making reference to the Miracle on Ice last night.

We get it, Al. You were there.
lol!

He's been noticeably quiet for the last little while. Unfortunately, this was a somewhat typical post from him.

His Mom took away the Internet. He can only post when he's at a web cafe now.
