The only thing I am starting to get worried about is injuries. There are a few players who are currently injured or are just getting over injuries. It may be a good thing that we are as deep as we are.

that could turn out to be a good thing, maybe guys like Stall and Spezza who should have made the team in the first place will get a chance to play.
I really like Staal. He should be there instead of Bertuzzi. Staal is so slick in the corners and has sweet hands. Picking Bertuzzi kind of felt like Hockey Canada sayng "f- you, we do what we want". If they don't pick him its only an issue in Vancouver, when they do its an issue nation wide.
I think Im going to hold my criticisims until the tournament is over, hopefully I wont have to say anything bad. Personally I think the only thing that can stop us from winning is if another team's goalie just steals the tourney, with the players we have we are the best, I cant see the team having scoring problems or falling apart on D, and if by chance Brodeur leaves his brain at home before the tourney, well Turco and Luongo are waiting in the wings. So I anticipate a gold medal performance, I just hope its not going to be taken from us by some hot goalie or bad refereeing (sp?).

I think the question we have to ask is...would we have a better chance of winning gold if Staal or Spezza was named to the team instead of Bertuzzi, Doan, Nash, Smyth and Draper lets say? Either way we are still the best, no worries here.
Another thing that worries me is the officiating. If the juniors was a test run we are in some serious trouble. We won't even be able to fart on the bench without getting a charging penalty for it. We won't last long if we give the Swede's or the Russians much PP time. Why don't they use all NHL officials and avoid the on-coming shit-storm?

Have you seen NHL games this season? Do you really think the NHL officials are much better?

no argument stall is having a great year and is a great player but since the 98 olympics our national teams (with pro players) have been made up of players who are proven (more than half a season) producers and winners...in 98 we took shanye corson and rob zamuner over mark messier...staal, spezza and crosby will all get their chance

ya the NHL is terrible this year, but I have never seen such an officiating travesty like at the world juniors this year.

May the shortest player be the best player come February!

USA, USA, USA!!
your Team USA is in a whole world of trouble, i doubt they'll even compete for a medal come February.

Staal and Spezza are both great players, but as has been said, Staal (maybe Marc too someday), Spezza, Crosby, ect., this new wave of great players will all get their chance, probably in the next games, if they're still on top of their game, pardon the pun.

Boy after some of those world junior games, the refs were so bad I wanted to smack someone! :x Even though I disagree with the NHL refs sometimes, they are worlds better than the international ones.

My understanding for the Olympics is they are using a mix of NHL refs and international ones... is that right?
This may be the best thread to ask this question, but does anyone know if there's any place online I can get a list, or a schedule of team Canada's opening rounds games in Turin? It's time to start scouting out bars here in Poland that'll play the games...
There is a list on the Torino Olympic web site listing all the preliminary games, but I don't know which Group Canada or the U.S. are in, sorry
