Kariya went to Nashville because the Oilers, Flames and any other team interested weren't stupid enough to grossly overpay for the guy like Nashville did. Nashville really has a solid looking team though. Kariya was overpaid nonetheless.
i was hoping kariya would come to vancouver for cheap, but..oh well...i have a feeling we may end up with ronning....we like those small home-town players!

The Penguins have agreed to a three-year, $13.5-million US contract with the free agent forward, Sportsnet and TSN reported on their websites Saturday.
Palffy is latest significant acquisition by the Penguins.
They won the draft lottery and the right to select junior star Sidney Crosby first overall last week before signing star defenceman Sergei Gonchar on Wednesday.
The Penguins didn't immediately return phone messages Saturday.
Palffy recorded 41 points in 35 games before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury in January 2004. He has collected 318 goals and 671 points in 642 career games with the New York Islanders and Los Angeles Kings.

I like Osgood, except for the long bad goals he lets in sometimes, he's a decent goalie, he did win the Cup once, so to get there you have to be decent
I've heard some people say they don't think Legace could be a #1 goalie, might not be able to play 60-65 games, but I guess we'll never know without giving him a chance

And in even more boring news: Jocelyn Thibault signed with the Pens. All of a sudden Pitts is reeling in the free agents, how things can change in a year.. good goalie, will help Fleury along, he should bounce back from his injury, he can be shaky sometimes, but a decent goalie nonetheless.
