I love Throwing off Glass, and it's tough to leave out... well, "Leave", but I've heard Good Life live, and it sounds so awesome I can't say no to it... that's my choice.
I have a tough time saying I don't like or hate certain Hip songs or albums... I love them all. There are some that I love more than others, of course. To me, IVL is probably middle of the pack when comparing the discography. But really, with any Hip album, how can you go wrong?
Good Life was my pick but heck...I absolutely love hearing it live...I know we all have many differnt opinions on that but I get chills at the power JF puts into the live version of that tune right before the refrain...It packs a wallop!
Furthermore...I hate to be long winded here...(sorry). Im from Michigan and my wife and kids and I took a summer vacation up to Toronto and to Niagara Falls the summer IVL came out.... Simply put, the album was our soundtrack up and down the 401 for a week. Throwing off Glass, A Beautiful Thing and Good Life are my faves... I love this cd (Silver jet and Leave are my least fave, but I still dig them).
I'm going out on a limb here...I believe IVL will be the cd we are really looking back at with sweet love on here in 5 years or so from now.... :thumb:
In the M@W vs. IVL debate I have to put my two cents in... I apologize for those of you who are sick of this debate.
If M@W was only 9 tracks long ..... M@W ---> Sharks..... M@W is the better album, in my opinion. If I listen to M@W, I change the CD the second I hear the first note of Toronto #4. In fact, the last 5 songs on M@W are probably the only 5 hip songs I don't know the lyrics to off by heart.
That being said.... Are you ready could have probably been cut from IVL, and I never really liked Throwing Off Glass.... but the rest of the album is solid, and laziness prevents me from intentionally skipping those tracks. Thus, I chalk up a win for IVL vs. M@W. But, alas, what do I know... I still think TATH is one of their weakest albums.

dark canauck is best of IVL no contest.... who the hell voted for throwing off glass??..by far the worst (yes even worse then sharks) hip song of all time!

Throwing is my 2nd favorite next to Darkest One. It's even more appealing now that I have a daughter.
Hey Trips... relax... it's an opinion is all. Just 6 pounds of subjectivity in a 3 pound bag. I'm definitely in the minority... but maybe I just don't get it.
