If anyone has noticed my increased activity on hipbase, I feel the need to explain that it is for one reason: end of semester work. I am currently putting off a couple sets of unit plans that I just don't have the energy to work on any longer. Is anoyone else dealing with the final crush of work before holiday break? If so, how are the rest of the hipbasers (mis)using their time?

...fa la la la la, la la la la...

I am felling the crunch, 14 page essay due tueday which has yet to be started. I know it will get done some how, but I am just too afraid to start it.

As soon as that is done i have exams coming out of my ass. Wish me luck!
Good luck! :thumb:
I just finished exams a week ago and spent all of last week doing absolutely nothing, perfectioning the art of procrastination... felt absolutely great.
It's been 12 years since I had any college work to put off, but I'm in the final stages of several projects at work that need to be done and I just don't have the energy right now to complete them. Promotions and raises are just not enough to motivate me.

To compensate, I've been spending my time planning a trip to London, but the US dollar is down against the Euro and Pound so it's looking like I won't go early next year. Thinking now about NYC or SF. Oh, and surfing a number of web sites.
i totally know what you guys are going through, finals start on tuesday for me, I have 5 in 8 days and I really dont have any motivation to start studying for them.
chancellor, it's good to hear someone is going through exactly what I am...my first final is Tuesday, and yet I find myself here at the hipbase. Campus nowdays is an awfully depressing sight...
ya, i seem to be on hipbase more than doing my work,
Oh, for the days when I could procrastinate at school. Now I'm procrastinating projects at work, which is a little more of a problem. Of course, the fact that I hate my job right now doesn't help... Sad

Anyway, before I read the thread I thought it would be about putting off Christmas shopping. I actually got a lot of Christmas shopping done this weekend... for me to have as much done as I have by December 5th, for me that's great!
One paper and three finals to go! I love Hipbase because it offers a welcomed break in between all the work I have yet to finish/start. Hipbase keeps me sane Big Grin
I'm feeling the procrastination pain myself; I have a 10 page essay on the vietnam analogy due Thursday, a 5 page political statistics essay due sometime next week and exams are looming like an evil cloud over the horizon, just waiting to rain on my parade Sad So I sit here in limbo, visiting the Hipbase and surfing maplemusic looking to add to my christmas wish list :thumb:
boooo 16 page take home exam on Political Economy (of the media) Cry Cry Cry

Then I am free... so, it is so hard to get into it!
it's when i hear people bitch about their workloads that i'm glad i'm a slacker still stuck in highschool, for my 6th year of the 4 year program , amen to that, it's straight to the recording studio after i graduate.

totally a pain in my ass!
I haven't procrastinated in..well...I'll get back to you later.

But seriously..

Procrastination is a lot like masturbation. In the end you're only fucking yourself Wink

For the first time in my life (My final year of school) I'm actually doing things before the last minute.

And I'm not kidding, I usually do things THE night before their due... all at once, no sleep till Brooklyn. Deadlines seem to be the only thing that motivate me. Procrastination is a major shortcomming for me.

Anyway, I'm finding that when you actually have time to check and re-check, proof read and edit... it makes a world of difference.

It's a 7,500, 40 page essay for a Canadian State and Social Policy class taught by a guy who's worked at all levels of government and can't be BS'd.

Which sucks... since "Baffle 'em with BS" is tattooed on my ass.
