I thought the show was great, except for the idiots who jumped on stage at the end. This was during the first encore. Then there was no second encore. Johnny said the guys were just too exhausted to come out again, but I blame the idiots. Anyway, I always love hearing IOD, and this was the first Lake Fever I've seen this tour. They seem to have sped it up a bit more. No, Amit, the word Asheville was not substituted for Nashville. Guess Gord's not as clever as you! The guys are definitely ready for a few days off. The good news is that we were told they will be touring the states again in February. Great, I thought I'd have a little more time to save some $$ and vacation days. Looks like more lotto tickets for me.
Sam Roberts played two new songs to open with. Sam says theyll work on another album before touring again.
Did I mention the spider rescue in Myrtle Beach? Cant remember who I told, sorry if I repeat myself. But being a vegan this was definitely a highlight of the show. I cant remember the song but Gord was playing the guitar. The song was almost over and gord was looking at the ground. Then he got on his knees and was playing while staring at something. He got Billy Ray to come over and it appeared there was a bug onstage. Billy Ray told us in Asheville that it was a spider; he was about to kill it but Gord insisted he rescue and remove it alive. I love Gord!

great. so they do a 2 month tour of the US. then a 2 week, half-assed Canadian tour, and then back to the states? wtf?
just once i want to see a Canadian SUMMER tour.

Bring on February. I'm in Dallas visiting family over reading week -- seeing the Hip there would be incredible

i just don't get it, they're willing to play these really small towns in the states in small bars/theathres year after year but won't do the same thing in canada. i live in brampton just outside of toronto so i can see them at the acc, but what about some smaller places, like the rock, pei, quebec city, fredricton, sudbury, sault ste marie, regina, medicine hat, lethbridge, red deer, kamloops, victoria, prince george, heck even whitehorse that won't get to see the hip this tour.. why wouldn't they even play in the suburbs of the bigger cities like brampton, mississauga, barrie, etc.....are you telling me that these places wouldn't draw more than 500 people that are seeing they're show in the U.S.......They continue to try and break into the american market but are forgeting their base market right here in canada.

at least Canada will get to see them when they are peaking. the first 10-15 shows weren't nearly as good as how they are playing now.

that is exactly what i was saying.
the hip are turning into BNL. they spend 85% of their time touring outside of canada.
and for the record... there has NEVER been a canadian summer tour. an no, ARA is not a canadian tour.
I do not speak for the band when I say this but I think that the reason they play small venues and small towns in the US and not in Canada may be a result of their popularity in Canada. They truly are Canada's band. They aren't BNL or Rush or Simple Plan who all hail from Canada but are American bands. The HIP could try to play small venues in Canada but it might be fruitless. If they know they can sell out or come close to selling out the ACC or Bell Centre, then why not play them. In the US they can't even sell out Burlington Memorial Auditorium located 1 hour from Montreal. Again I am not saying that this is the definitive reason why they do this but it seems a likely scenario.

i understand why they play the acc and cops and the bell centre, that's understood, what i'm saying is that they should also be touring the smaller canadian towns where people would still go see them, like quebec city, fredricton, etc. those people deserve a chance to see the hip as well.
Look for summer touring in Canada - 2005. Smaller markets.
