Is anyone else concerned with the fact they are touring SO much and that they have a greatest hits album coming out.

I'd say they're probably touring so much simply because they have a greatest hits album coming out.
I hope that touring so much will be good for them ... their weaker recent albums, I think, come from working in the studio rather than writing songs the way they did in the past. IBE is moving back to that.

I really doubt the guys have any plans on calling it quits.
A greatest hits record just means that they need to fullfill their contract to Universal Music. If the record company wants one they get one.
U2 has done 2 best ofs and they didnt break up. Even Pearl Jam has one coming out and they aint going anywhere.
The guys have been better then any band about putting out new albums so with the greatest hits cd they can tour in support of it and take a breather afterwards and get the creative juices flowing again.
Instead of every 2 years maybe we get the next album 3-4 years away.
In between then maybe a Gord solo album. So all in all it aint too bad.
Plus.. "In Between Evolution" is still a kick as album so lets still enjoy this gem!
I did that after U2's Pop album and thought they were finished. Although i do love album, it was critically panned.
anyway enough rambling... rock on rockers!

I'm hoping, not that I wish poor sales on them, but maybe they are touring so much because the album isn't selling as well as they'd hope?

They're not touring any more or less intensely than they have in the past. The greatest hits album is part of their contract, so they don't have much of a choice in the matter. As for the band calling it quits, that won't be happening anytime soon, and here's my proof:

As I was typing a reply, I saw this post, and I completely agree. Their tour schedule seems pretty normal. They've always been ambitious and being out on the road is no exception.

please look at the phantom power tour and see how many cities and shows they played, i thought this tour so far was a little weaker in regards to number of dates and cities, but we'll see what the new year brings.
