Anyone else in T.O. here this? This morning on the morning show, Dean confirmed, "most if not all" of the members of The Hip will be taking part in his day of golf, hanging out, having a good time he said. He mentioned before that there will be a band playing, but has not said who as of yet. I doubt it'd be the boys, but that's just my opinion. Unfortunately, tickets are sold out. Maybe some Hipbasers picked one up?
yeah i kinda knew this about a month ago from a buddy at the edge, however he told me NOT TO SAY ANYTHING about it and i want to keep any connections i have
yeah i think they might even do a couple of tunes after the golfing has commenced
I guess, my one and only question in regards to Edge is when the heck did The Tragically Hip and Blue Rodeo for that matter, become alternative rock bands ?
I have been listening to Q107 for the last few weeks.. and I have forgotten The Hip have just released a new album..

soooo sad
I would never think to tune into Edge to hear The Tragically Hip.. or Blue Rodeo for that matter..
Cheers! 8)
My guess is, it's got something to do with the new management deal they signed? More promotion, etc?
The golf portion of the fay is sold out, but a week or so ago, Dean announced that they would sell tickets to the evening portion of the event.
Edge plays The Hip all the time. VC is #4 on their chart right now. (http://www.edge.ca/station/sp_30.cfm)

Back to this topic for a moment.. this is what I discovered this morning..
from.. Edge.ca
Dean Blundell's Golfapallooza 2004!
Celebrity's So Far Include: Wade Belak, Nathan Perrott, Rick Jackman, Ian Leggatt (PGA PRO), Alan Frew, Marc Holmes, Gord Depp, Michael Burgess,& More to come Daily...
I don't see a mention of The Hip.. and other mentions too..
Curiously, Have The Tragically Hip in fact been confirmed?
I am thinking of writing to the program director of Q107 to ask if there is not a way they (Q107) play new Tragically Hip.. It's really not fair to Q107 listeners that we are not hearing New Hip..
I have to think how to politely ask
Cheers! 8)
trust me they are gonna be there
99.4%
well, it looks like some members of the hip will be playing with some of the guys from our lady peace......interesting..
The same Dean Bundell that was making fun of "Summer is Killing Us" when they played it.
He is a clown
Wade Belak is playing?! They want to put an IRON CLUB in the hands of THAT monster?! Depending on how fast they can run, this may be the last we hear of the Hip!
Yep... heard some details this morning... they said that after the golfing day is done, there's dinner & a show... Lowest of the Low will be opening, then there will be a jam with members of The Hip playing with members of Our Lady Peace. And there's a headliner after that (but unannounced as of yet). Can't imagine it'll be The Hip if their part of this jam.... ticket information will be available next week.
Belak's been playing for Toronto for how many years...? He must be a golf pro by now...GOLF LEAFS GOLF! GOLF LEAFS GOLF! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!
