Always looking for new music to listen to, and 2009 has so far been a pretty great year for music. Besides "We Are the Same", a couple of my favorites so far are Mastodon's "Crack the Skye" and Neil Young's "Fork in the Road." What are some other albums that have come out recently you think are going to be on your best of '09 list?
Morrissey's "Years of Refusal" is the only release so far that I can see cracking any sort of top albums list so far this year.
2009 hasnt been very eventful yet with music, at least for me it hasnt..

Neil Young - Fork In The Road
and Pearl Jam's Ten Remix are the only real highlights for me thus far..and of course the obvious but Im going to say it anyway cause I love it.

Looking forward to the new Matt Good in October, Our Lady Peace (burn,burn) and Pearl Jam has an album this year I believe.

AC Newman has a few really solid tracks on "Get Guilty," but I wouldn't call it a favourite album.

Like Lizard King, am also really looking forward to Matt Good's new album. He said on his blog that we have to wait until October...some garbage about the label thinking not enough time had elapsed between his Live@Massey album and this one. Bastards.

Slice O Life - Bruce Cockburn (live solo)
- This is Bruce at his absolute best, just his voice and his acoustic guitar. Absolutely brilliant and mesmerizing.
I saw AC Newman on Letterman last night and his performance was really good, I'll be sure to check out some more of his stuff.
Another album I want to check out is Beirut's latest effort March of the Zapotec, their last album The Flying Club Cup was spectacular.
