I think it's wicked, definitely worth checking out. I haven't seen them, they're #1 on my list for bands i haven't seen...I've heard they're a killer live act...ordered tickets for the Toronto show as I'll happen to be in the area at the time.

Gomez is great live. Quite a few boots kicking around. Last show I saw was in DC at the 9:30 club. I think you can still download that show from NPR. I'll probably catch them when they come to Paris.

I hear you GBV on their new stuff. Save for a few tracks, HWO just didn't do it for me, even live, where the energy seemed to go down for the new tracks...

I've also been listening to M Ward's Hold Time.

Looking forward to Iron and Wine's double album of b-sides, Trevor Tchir's new album and...Sarah Harmer admitted being in the studio last fall...nothing from her since 2005!? Hopefully something by late summer.

Never really thought it was my kind of thing, but I picked up K'naan's Troubadour this week...it's beyond great.

Metric - Fantasies. Released the same day as the Hip. It was a great new music day for me.

Band of Skulls- Baby Darling Doll Face Honey

They had a free single of the week on iTunes, and after hearing the single I grabbed the entire album. Very very solid from start to finish. I would describe it as White Stripes meets Cold War Kids, with a dash of Zeppelin... I think these guys are going to be big and will definitely be checking them out if/when they tour to Toronto.

On that...Sarah Harmer provides backing vocals on a track on the Neko Case album.

Devin Townsend's new album "Ki" is pretty cool, very laid back and relaxing for such a metal dude. He's supposed to release three(!) albums this year, getting progressively heavier.
