Match up #22

I have to vote for Wheat Kings, I just have to. It's a classic tune. I still have lots of love for TDC. I just haven't had time to get into it yet, come back in 6 months Smile

There are at least two of us.

Haha, your title is Wheat King. That's kind of ironic.

Apple, Zippo, and Metronome

perhaps the best lyric ever written. TCD gets way more airtme with me than WK.

what about these lines?

In his Zippo lighter, he sees the killer's face
Maybe it's someone standing in a killer's place

Where the walls are lined all yellow, grey and sinister
Hung with pictures of our parents' prime ministers

I got annoyed at having Wheat Kings played at (seemingly) every show I attend, and ended up liking the song less for it. Canuck's always been a favourite, I wish it'd make a live comeback!

trying to be funny...I said the same thing in an earlier thread about a different lyric.

or I could've said- the lyrical cadence of the staccato triplet blends nicely with the melodic undertones of the bridge, creating a seamless transition between the chordal striations....I'm so full of shit.

Looking at radio play time, and opinions of a few casual hip fans I know, Dark Canuck seems to be quite underrated. It's such a good song with killer sound.

On the other hand, wheat kings is a classic tune with an awesome acoustic feel that gives me shivers when played live.

IMO, this is gonna be a tough vote.

EDIT: I didn't realize this 'tough vote' is 23 hours old

Bring on the next match-up!
