sites like Nugs.net or Archive.org have boatloads of live music
I would say the majority of music on these sites consists of stuff by Jam Bands

That's cool, thanks. What about for uploading your own audio files you want to share? That's what I'm talking about. Any idea?

You may want to take a look at Stickam.com. You can upload audio, video, and image files that can be shared through a customizable player that doubles as a Webcam interface (if anyone's into that).
There are some file-size limits and I've experienced a couple of upload problems but for a free service/player, it's worth a look.
