So I'm off to Vegas at the end of Nov. for a 4 day AutoCAD conference and I'm pretty stoked about it. About 2 months ago I saw this conference online and casually mentioned it to my boss. She said what's in it for them (my employer), so I did some homework and put together a presentation. They were impressed so it went to the next level which was a directors meeting. The directors all unanimously agreed to it, so the last hurdle was getting the executive director to sign off on it. I found out about a week ago that he approved myself and my co-worker to both go. It's at the Venetian hotel which I have discovered is one of, if not the best hotel in Vegas. I've never been there as an adult, so this should be a pretty good time/shit-show.
I'm not wanting to gloat here, just share my excitement. A few years ago I had some friends who went to Vegas with their company as a team building experience and since then I have been wishing I could work somewhere that would send me to something like that.

I was in Vegas last year for a friend's wedding. I'm not much of a gambler, so I was pretty much just there for the drunken debauchery. Needless to say, good times were had by all. That town is ridiculously fun. Have a great time!

There are plenty of deals to be had.
Some bars offer $1.00 beer and $1.00 Margaritas.
And of course - if you are at a slot machine, table, or video poker at the bar - you drink for free.

• After the Mardi Gras festivities, go upstairs to the VOODOO LOUNGE. There is a $10 cover charge, but it’s an outside bar overlooking Vegas 30 or 40 stories above the strip. He also couldn’t stress this enough as well. - i loved this bar!!
Freemont Street
• Also known as the “Freemont Experience” (a must see- free)
• Located on Freemont Street, right by the Golden Nugget Hotel.
Night 2:
Treasure Island
• Boat show (free)
Mirage
• Volcano show (free)
Bellagio

Here's my Tip for free booze. Prowl the casino's until you see a waitress. Sit at a slot, throw in a buck, order drink. play slowly, tip waitress a dollar and spin down your dollar.
Ok, some would say it's not exactly free (my wife) but it's a system that works for me. Vegas is funny, everything is either free(see above) or $5 or more a drink(classy places can be up to $20)

Going to Vegas last summer with a friend and no hotel reservations was the greatest time of my life. We were winging every minute of the vacation with no idea where we were going to wind up each night. Until we got to Vegas, we didn't even know if we were going to make it all the way there. I don't think it's possible to have a bad time there.

Let me know how Bouchon is, I've been to French Laundry in California and it was amazing.
Thomas Keller is probably the greatest chef in the world today.
) They all have different "shows" during the day that are free. ((((check out Treasure Islands -TI.....if your not opposed to hot ladies of course))). If you want to gambole at the tables try off the strip. The table buy-ins are cheaper and they make better drinks. It's not cheap, everythings costs, but you'll have a killer time. 
I'd love to go to Vegas. I hope you have a great time - I'd hate to be the guy who does the accounts at your company when you present him with your expense report.
