Apologies if this has already been posted, but I stumbled across this today <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.nutv.ca/php/movie.php?id=4">http://www.nutv.ca/php/movie.php?id=4</a><!-- m -->
It's interesting to say the least. The boys look soooo young.
FYI, you need quicktime to view it....

That was great - thanks. But what was with the reporters last comment about not being able to discern which tunes were originals and which were covers? Even scanning old setlists there has rarely been a Hip show with more then 2 covers. This girl was an idiot...journalists...uck.

Cool! Thanks for posting that. I think I was about 15 or 16 when I first saw the NOIS video on Muchmusic. Damn I feel old.

Actually, the whole piece was awful. But in this woman's defense (sort of), this is public access television, so it's forgivable. She's not really a journalist.
Cheers,

I agree the interviewer was substandard, but her last remark was prophetic of decades' worth of Hip critics to come---'aw, they're just (sniff) another FM radio rock band.' Sort of like the Stones, I guess.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but does anyone remember a CBC-aired documentary on the Hip during the Road Apples tour? It had lots of concert footage, of course, as well as Downie standing forlornly on a mini-golf course and Johnny Fay threatening to smash the camera. Sort of a Trailer Park Boys meets On the Road. Ring a bell? Can this be found anyplace?

I wonder when the last time Gord needed to use hairspray to keep the "fly aways" from ruining his do?
Goulet!!!
