Apologies if this has already been posted, but I stumbled across this today <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.nutv.ca/php/movie.php?id=4">http://www.nutv.ca/php/movie.php?id=4</a><!-- m -->
It's interesting to say the least. The boys look soooo young.
FYI, you need quicktime to view it....
Cheers

That was great - thanks. But what was with the reporters last comment about not being able to discern which tunes were originals and which were covers? Even scanning old setlists there has rarely been a Hip show with more then 2 covers. This girl was an idiot...journalists...uck.

Cool! Thanks for posting that. I think I was about 15 or 16 when I first saw the NOIS video on Muchmusic. Damn I feel old.

"However if The Hip are to live up to the promotional hype around them. A great deal of work is needed to improve the originality of their music."
Sue Alexander (hmm, I wonder where she is now?)

way to stick to the one negative thing!
Great find man! Cool to watch! Gord was so much more coherent when he was younger. lol

Wow that was great. Poor Sue Alexander. If only she knew where they were going. b

Great find. Love that old shit.
Was a great piece until the last 7 seconds.
'...find their sound....' think they found it Sue!!!!!

Actually, the whole piece was awful. But in this woman's defense (sort of), this is public access television, so it's forgivable. She's not really a journalist.
Cheers,
John

I agree the interviewer was substandard, but her last remark was prophetic of decades' worth of Hip critics to come---'aw, they're just (sniff) another FM radio rock band.' Sort of like the Stones, I guess.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but does anyone remember a CBC-aired documentary on the Hip during the Road Apples tour? It had lots of concert footage, of course, as well as Downie standing forlornly on a mini-golf course and Johnny Fay threatening to smash the camera. Sort of a Trailer Park Boys meets On the Road. Ring a bell? Can this be found anyplace?

Score. I haven't seen that in ages.
Is it possible to love one man so much and yet be so straight?
Thanks Chris.
EDIT: Okay, now how do I get the thing to move past 0%?

I wonder when the last time Gord needed to use hairspray to keep the "fly aways" from ruining his do?
Goulet!!!
