Nirvana's unplugged is great, but this is the one I love and always choose.

it sucks that kurt had to die before we could find out that the most talented member of the band was behind the drum kit.

AIC unplugged is amazing, I rate it above Nirvana's which was also good. I think AIC songs translated better to the acoustic setting.

I'll go out there & say it: Foo Fighters are better than Nirvana.
They've explored more in their own musical abilities, have a plethora of amazing hits, their albums are produced & mixed in the most careful & perfect way, and they kick ass live! Seriously, Dave Grohl can do it all: sing, lead guitar, drums... this guy is one of the most talented musicians of our time! And Taylor Hawkins is one of the greatest drum players of all time!

i didn't find either of them especially fantastic live, though, unfortunately.

Okay. Now add Pearl Jam and Soundgarden into the mix.

1. Pearl Jam
2. Soundgarden
3. Alice in Chains
4. Nirvana

Like a Hip song ranking, my order can change depending on what day you ask me. It could be the complete opposite order tomorrow.

I didn't really listen to Nirvana or AIC all that much, so I'm not sure about them. NIrvana Unplugged is pretty good. I haven't listened to the AIC unplugged. What I do know is that for me, Soundgarden >>>Pearl Jam.

1. Soundgarden
2. Pearl Jam
3. Nirvana
4. Alice In Chains

People just lastched onto Nirvana because they were "cool"...

futrthermore, it's pointless to compare these bands (or any bands for that matter), we don't sit around comparing paintings, saying, "oh, this one is way better, it has more blue in it"...

apples and oranges.
