Actor Heath Ledger Is Found Dead

Some gang of twisted nutbars Wrote:“God hates the sordid, tacky bucket of slime seasoned with vomit known as Brokeback Mountain – and He hates all persons having anything to whatsoever to do with it.

tigerthelion Wrote:The bible is quite clear that nobody can judge except for God. Yet, all these so called "Christians" do is judge ... Love overrides all in my opinion. The bible tells me to love everyone. God loves everyone.

The new testament is pretty clear, overall, on who's all about love and who owns hate.

Pardon the religious commentary (especially coming from me, an atheist), but not only do the nutbars transgress by forgetting the instruction to love their neighbours as they love themselves, and by forgetting that "vengeance is mine, saith the Lord," but they in fact are committing one of the big no-no sins, one that's expressly forbidden by the ten commandments:

Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord in vain.

That doesn't mean "thou shalt not cry out My Name upon whacking your thumbs with a hammer, even be it a one-ounce ball-peen" it means, "thou shalt not presume to speak on My behalf, nor invoke My Name for thy own petty purposes, or thy thumbs shall be whacked by hammers in Hell, so help Me Myself."

I'm pretty sure that none of the commandments said, "Thou shalt not appear in movies about gay cowboys, for it is an abomination in my sight. Everyone knows John Wayne wasn't gay!"

So these folks might want to consider who among us might be more likely to end up in hell.

The problem with these nuts is that not only do they fail to understand fundamental tenets of the religion they use as a cloak for their prejudice, but they demean that religion in the process.

They're giving all Christians a bad name -- and then, by creating a backlash against Christianity, I believe they hope to drive other Christians toward their extremist views.

I almost agree with that....except I've begun to think that instead of failing to understand (and demeaning) the fundamental tenets of Christianity, these extremists they are deliberately ignoring the tenets, because if they truly embrace them, then there is no money to be made and no notoriety to be gained.

So, in my view, these nutjobs are even more "evil" than someone who refuses to acknowledge or recognize God as Creator or Christ in the first place.

I think you're probably right on that one.

Hell really must be frozen over. Smile

Some are hilarious.
Others make me want to pull a Paul and kick an ass or three.

The bible is also explicit about loving thy neighbour. The bible is also explicit about adultery, greed, lust, and envy being sins. Every person alive commits sins every day. Why do extremist church nuts act like homosexuality is worse than any other sin?
