That sums Bonner up pretty good!

That song was made for him. :thumb:

That's hilarious.

I'm with you Sean, I like the song. I think the new album is their best work since Phantom Power.

Agreed.

I turn the station when it comes on the radio.

I never understood the hatred towards "In View". I liked it when it first came out, and I still like it now. I agree with NegPhil. I think the album as a whole is the best thing they've done since Phantom Power.

I support the bands efforts in gaining more radio play and yes....STOP THE HATING PEOPLE!!!!!! This band can do no wrong in my books.

I think the fact that the band had to create a bubblegum pop piece of schlock in order to get more radio airplay speaks to the sad sad state of commercial radio. Even when they played it at the Warner, I couldnt get that F#$%@#% xylophone sound out of my head.

I don't think In View is that bad, personally. It's not my all time favourite, but it's a neat little tune.

And I certainly don't understand some people's dislike of Rink. The soaring guitars at the intro and throughout, the dramatic, hockey imagery in the lyrics, the almost Police-like feel to the beat... I think it's one of the best songs on the album.

In fact, nearly the whole album is brilliant. I say nearly, because Pretend is one song I could definitely do without... man it's annoying! Otherwise World Container is stellar, in my opinion.

Couldn't agree more. Rink is easily one of my favorites on the album, and it never fails to kick my ass when they play it live. When I first heard it at Sasquatch '06, my friends and I immediately declared it an instant Hip classic. Robby's Police-esque guitar part is what makes the song, and the dance-rock breakdown during the bridge parts is pretty damn cool too. I especially love Johnny's perfectly timed rim-shots during the 2nd verse. I've never heard him do that before. It's a killer tune, that's for sure.

In Scottish accent:

Perky, Giddy, Childlike. Remind you of anybody?

That's my Craig Fergeson impersenation in text form!

In View hints of poppy cheese. But it is a good song. It plays much better live with a harder sound, that piano thingy out of it, and sung-along to.

one thing is for sure...

in view has generated more keyboard strokes on the hipbase then any other WC track

hey, at least it got two pages worth of posts in one day which is more than any other non NHL topic on the 'base these days.

In View stinks, and it's not just a song, it's a terrible song. Dare I say it? ... it is worse than ... Evelyn.

There, I said it.
