An Evening with the Hip @ the "KEE"
#16

O.K. first off the Bala bay Inn is a 1 minute walk. Literally right across the street. Drive from 401 & Avenue Road should take just under 2 hours if you leave after rush hour.

A note about capacity, it will be packed. They will over crowd it for sure I bet. I already now of people on the KEE guest list (bastards)
The Patio capacity of 200 or so is sweet, but you can not see the band from there, just the lake. Great view and place to smoke doobies. The patio also closes at 12 due to noise bylaw, since noise travels so well on a lake.

I looked into plane tickets last night - $840 from Victoria to Toronto. Anyone need to buy some 15 row GM Place tix????

This will be a REALLY good show if you can get tickets... I am sure they will be going fast!!!!

I am going to try to make it to this show... I got some good tickets for the June 30th show in Lewiston, but I think this show will be killer. Big Grin :thumb:

Hmm the Hip have found a way to stick it to the scalpers. Hehe It is a really good idea as people like me who can't go to the show due to work and stuff wont be able to purchase tickets and sell them.
Great idea guys!!!

My friends up there said that they heard rumors on the weekend but dismissed the because I said the Hip would never play there.
I remeber the night after the Victoria show. I hung out outside the venue with the Lost Barilko (Tony) and a couple other people. It was the first time I met the boys (only Gord & Rob talked with us the first night, second night Paul talked for a bit). First thing we asked Rob was if he thought of cutting his hair in to a Mullet or something like that.
Then I asked Gord about the Lofty Pines in Bracebridge having any connection to "lofty Pines" and he just said no. Then I asked him if he would ever play in Muskoka specifically The Kee and he said that he had Developed Muskokism or something like that. TLB do you remeber exactly what he said?? I think you were standing besides me. It was something along the lines of not wanting to play for Rich people who golf all day.

It will bug me until I remeber what Gordy said. I remeber I was a little pissed off but it was a pretty sweet burn.

Finally the Hip make it to Yuppyville! I guess their aren't enough "cool spots" closer to Kingston that would bring the band back this way. What about the Festival of the Islands boys?

I think that the Festival of the Islands musical director would love to have the Hip play, but I am not sure if they could meet the Hip's asking price. Instead, it's Blue Rodeo once again this year. However, Corb Lund is playing one night which I am excited about.
