Hell of a pitchers' duel at the Rogers Centre tonight. They played nine innings in under two hours, but neither team could manage more than a run so they had to go to extras to settle it. Halladay throws a 10-inning, one-run complete game, and Bonderman nearly matched him giving up one run over nine. When the Tigers went to the pen to start the bottom of the 10th, the Jays took advantage with an infield single and two perfectly placed bunts to load the bases for an Alex Rios sac fly to win it. :thumb:

For all of you Blue Jays fans out there I was sorry to hear about Ryan. That is really too bad. I always root for my team, but never against another. Especially when they are a team that could potentially keep Boston or New York out of the playoff mix (its okay to dream, isn't it?). The GM made his situation sound pretty bad.
On a better note - the Indians won today - 3/3 in series wins so far. They only managed one hit in the victory (Sizemore led off the game with a hit) - theres something you don't see too often!

C.C. was at the top of his game today, it was really brutal and enjoyable to see Konerko, et al whiffing at air today. On the other hand, Ben Sheets is really stinking up the joint today.. :oops: :oops:

Speaking of BJ Ryan, things aren't looking good for the Jays on the injury front. Reed Johnson is having surgery and is out till July and Troy Glaus was placed on the 15 day DL...hope they can get through this tough stretch. Frank Thomas is gonna have to start producing at the plate.

Jays are hurtin but I think they'll find a way to cope, they usually do.
But none of that matters tonight, my Sox are in town and Dice-K is going to go bonzai on you!!

I was at the game tonight, and while Dice-K was good, he certainly wasn't one hundred million dollars good. Yes, he had 10 strikeouts, but after the first time through the lineup the Jays' hitters really started to battle him and take him deep into counts. This led to him going over the hundred pitch mark in the 6th inning, so that was the end of him. It was also nice of him to walk in the winning run, although he got lucky when the next batter (Smith, the Jays' 9th hitter) sent a long fly out to straight away centre field that was about 3 feet short of a grand slam.
Great effort by Chacin and the bullpen to hold the Red Sox to one run. Big win for the home team :thumb:

That was a good game, all credit to the Jays. Dice K pitched well I thought, he struggled in the 4th but came back strong, its only his third start, he's only going to get better.
