Vapour Trails 'grabbed' me quite bad the other day while on the train. I've never really noticed the eery eachoing 'throooow away' right at the end of the song before, but on my headphones it's really noticeable (comes out loud on the right phone), so I was kind of drifting off to sleep during a boring journey, sat next to a stranger, and those vocals came on. I just about jumped out of my seat thinking the woman next to me was whispering/singing those lines right in my ear.

I love Rob's solo in Dire Wolf too. When I got IVL, I kept hitting repeat on that song.

I still do that for Rob's solo in DW. It's frickin awesome.

When that record came out, I sat down with the guitar and practiced that solo over and over and over, and never could manage to get it right. It was depressing to discover that my ability is limited to the point where I simply cannot reproduce such a precise lead.

However, I feel better about my inadequacy everytime I hear it live, because Bobby never seems to play it exacly like he did in the studio. It's usually very similar, but either he ends up muting some of those notes, or he abbreviates the phrase to avoid accidentally muting certain strings.

I was trying to do my taxes this weekend and I put in IVL. I hit the repeat on Dire Wolf about 5 times before I had to turn it off or my taxes would never have gotten done.

All in all, I'd say that I made the wrong choice.
