run it in mono and just double the tracks, then pan L and R.
Steve what sound card do you have? Just the stock PC card? If so thats your problem. But no matter what you get you'll need some form of a soundcard. I dont know about Macs though.
Also how are you getting into the PC? USB? Firewire?
Here is my chain
guitar->Amp (Line 6 Flextone III)-> Firebox (Soundcard)-> PC through firewire
My Line 6 Amp is going direct which is usually a bad thing but it is a modeling amp so even though its direct its modeling like its mic'd. Actually pretty cool if you think about it
The soundcard is what read the waves and translates them into music.
But were you able to record before? If you were then we should be able to troubleshoot this.

OK thats a good thing if you were able to record before but not now. Maybe you need to sync the software with the soundcard if you just DL'd it. If you have CEP 2.0 I could tell you how. I dont know the one you have.
IF you cant record then lets start with the input.

Hey guys, I'm gonna put some vocals for Fiddlers Green (rough quality I'm afraid) up by Sunday, if anyone else wants to have a shot too go for it, and if anyone wants to take a shot at Family Band then they're welcome too, that one will take me longer to get together properly!!

is it worth posting partial songs to get feedback on tone, drum machine, click, etc? It would help me if I knew how you guys wanted to keep time. Right now Im recording to a drum machine and click

Ive recorded Membership up to the solo section. Like mentioned above I played it to a drum machine WITH NO FILLS. just a standard pattern to help keep me in time. Anyone want to hear it for suggestion before I finish it? Its real basic, just three tracks total..guitar guitar panned left and right and the third track is the drum machine at 122bpm
This is for fun and I play guitar for a hobby so Im not going to be blowing anyone away so be nice but suggestions are welcome
anyone want to hear this?

Full Membership is up. I uploaded three of them because Im not sure how you all want to work. I did one with a drum machine with NO fills, one to a click, and one to nothing...no click or drum machine
Chk it out and let me know
Its only the rhythm so needs everything.
My dream would be at the Philly show hear Gord say "It there a Ballgame in the house? If so get up here!" and I'd jam Membership with them.

OK Matt! Let's get it uploaded, and we'll keep this ball rolling.
With Ballgame's encouragement (thanks!) I layed down my first (rather lame) attempt at the basic rhythm track for Fiddler's late last night. I'll go at it again and get something posted this week/weekend.
