For the first time in months i don't have any concerts to look forward too Sad After seeing Jim Cuddy at the Confederation Centre on Friday night though, we HAVE to get the Hip to play there & the Jubilee someday!

Jim Cuddy was at the Confed Centre? I didn't even know about that show. I was kicking myself for missing Blue Rodeo at the Confed Centre a while back. I didn't know Jim Cuddy played there recently. I missed out on Ron Sexsmith and Sarah Slean at the Jubilee Theatre a while back too because of work and missed the most recent Sarah Harmer concert at the Jubilee. ARGH.

Yeah the Jim Cuddy concert wasn't really advertised very much at all. I wouldn't of found out about it myself had i not checked out the Confederation Centre's website.

It was this past Friday, Justin Rutledge (i think i got his name right) opened, and then Jim played a mixture of solo material & Blue Rodeo hits for 2 full hours (22 songs in all). It was very good, & the girl (Anne Lindsey) he had playing the violen was amazing. She did a ridicouls solo in the middle of "5 days in May" which was insane...i didn't know you could make a violen rock that much!). Anyways it was a very good concert, and the highlights were definitely the Blue Rodeo classics "5 days in May" and "trust yourself", both were simply awesome.
Hopefully Blue Rodeo play the Island on there next tour.

And as for Guns, i found video of a couple of songs from last night, pretty good quality at that. And yeah it's not the original Gunners, but that doesn't change the fact that it was the best concert i've ever been to Smile

"Sweet Child O'Mine"

Is it St. Johns where the tickets are going so slow that they are doing 2 for 1 deals?

The floor & the lower bowl were sold out, but they still had some upper bowl tickets left & yeah, the promoters wanted the entire upper full too, so yesterday i think they put on that promotion.

Good to see some people getting into this band. I saw the Toronto show and despite the sound mix being muddy, it was insanely killer. Axl is on top of his game and this band is a monster live to say the least. Pretty cool to see them embracing the Trailer Park Boys too..."I'm watching you like a shithawk"

To those who think this is a cover band...too bad you feel that way, cause as Ryan93 says, you're missing one of the best shows you'll ever see....and a single performance of the new song "Better" will erase any notion that this is a cover band. If you want to be a purist, Slash wasn't the original lead guitarist either...Traci Guns was. There were Appetite and Illusion songs around before Slash entered the picture. It's always been an everchanging group of people, with one constant.

I think overall they lick bag but I have to admit that Appetite is one of the greatest albums ever made.

I've seen AC/DC, Rush, Pearl Jam, The Hip, Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins in 96, U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dragonforce...

so i doubt it would even crack my top 25.

Tool takes GNR to the sofa bed, crams it in their ass without lube and then doesn't call them in the morning.
