WOW! Was anybody else there? The show fucking rocked! It was amazing, unreal!

The first 2 bands were horrible, but The Trews rocked the Metro Centre, they were awesome! They left the stage around 11pm, and then there was about an hour wait. Right around midnight the lights dimmed and the place just went nuts. Robin Fink then teased us with a little sample of the opening lick to "welcome to the jungle" (which was like the best thing ever!), before Axl emerged and the party started. Hit after hit after hit, the band sounded incredible, Axl sounded great (although he was drownout a bit by the band on some songs) & he put on a hell of a show. The man never stopped running the entire 2+ hours, it was awesome. They played pretty much everything you'd want them to, and the new songs sounded great too!.

Highlights for me, man i don't know where to begin. Seeing the Trailer Park Boys on stage, with Axl & Bubbles sharing a mic singing "liquor & whores" was great...and i absolutely loved the guitar solo by Ron Thai where he was on stage all by himself & played the entire "don't cry". Before that he started his solo by playing O'Canada, with the entire building standing & singing along.

Patience was probably the highlight for me though, followed closely by Nightrain, which ended the main set.

I had a blast, and all i can say is all you folks out there which hold some kind of grudge against Axl and do nothing but diss the man & refuse to go see them because they aren't the real GN'R....well you're all missing out on one hell of a rock show!

GNR didn't take the stage until midnight? I thought there were laws in place that required concerts to be over by a certain time.

Man Sized Eldorado and I went to see them the last time they were here in Toronto and we had a blast. I contemplated going again this time, but I'm all tapped out for concerts this year.

I heard that they started pretty late here in Toronto as well. I think that markslog went... maybe he can confirm.

I think those laws generally are for outdoor concerts.

Yeah, that would make sense. When I heard about those laws, it was for The Stones concert, which was outdoors.

If I remember correctly from when I lived there, any concerts on Citadel Hill (or in the vicinity) had to be over by 11pm because of the residents in the area and across the street.

2am though??? That's pretty late to be getting out of a concert on a weeknight I'd say. But GnR in the 'fax!!! What a show that would've been!

They went on at 11:40 in Toronto.

They were suppposed to take the stage at 11:45, but it was closer to 12. I'm not sure exactly what time they left the stage (they closed with Paradise City), but it was a little after 2. So by the time we got back home it was after 6am. I didn't sleep a wink all night, but just had a nice little 2 hour nap

Axl just has so damn much energry on stage, it's insane. He just doesn't stop. I had a great time, and i definitely recommended you guys to go see them if they're stopping in your city!!

Is Mr. Brownstone in the setlist?

Not a bad show at all, didn't like getting home at 2:30am and being up for work at 6am part. The Dizzy piano solo was a nice touch, and Mr. Brownstone was rockin!

Best GnR cover band I am going to see.

Lance and I went to the concert. We showed up around 10:50, just to catch a few last songs by the Trews. We knew that G n R wouldn't take the stage late so we waiting before going to the Metro Center.

The show was GREAT. I was a hard core fan when I was younger and I loved the show. Axl still has a lot of energy and runs around the stage like he's 25 again. November Rain, Don't Cry (Guitar Version) and Patience were highlights for me.

Also during Liquor and Whores with the Trailler Park Boys, Bubbles knocked over the Mic. and Axl ran over to pick it up for him!! I think Axl even had fun with the TPB's

TPB were at the Toronto show as well. Bubbles "interrupted" Sebastian Bach's set during "Monkey Business" and did Liquor & Whores. Once done, Sebastian + the band went back into Monkey Business. During GN'Rs set Axl introduced Bubbles when Sebastian came on to sing with GnR on My Michelle.

Yep GnR went on at about 11:40 and it ended at almost 2am.

I did think the 2002 show was better. But the 2006 version was still good.

Thanks Ryan for the recommendation but I'll pass on seeing this cover band. :thumb:
