Saw the new Taylor Sheridan movie Wind River the other day (same guy who wrote Sicario and Hell or High Water). Excellent, dark, low-budget thriller that follows a murder investigation on a Native American reservation in Wyoming. Solid performances from Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, and Graham Greene. Hugh Dillon is also quite good in a small role.

Flaked on Netflix is worth mentioning. Kinda moves at a stoner's pace (literally) but was well worth the watch.

Just finished binging the new Karate Kid sequel series "Cobra Kai", and it's surprisingly excellent. There are some fun call-backs to the original film of course, but they also do a great job of keeping the story fresh and engaging. The two leads are both terrific reprising the roles that made them famous, but William Zabka steals the show as Johnny. They've made him a more sympathetic, fleshed-out character this time around, and he's essentially the protagonist of the first few episodes. Overall it's a damn entertaining show with just the right mix of humor, seriousness, and 80s nostalgia.

A few years behind for certain, but ended up watching "Freaks and Geeks" on Netflix. Two questions I have are;

1) How on earth did this not get picked up for more than one season?!?!?
2) How on earth has it taken me so long to come across it and watch it!?!?!?

What a fantastic show. What a throwback to high school days!

I brought my kids last week. I think they were the last ones in their class to see it! I enjoyed it as well but if I had one criticism it would be an old man diatribe of "less explosions, more dialogue please". The humour in the movie is quite good at times (e.g the back and forth between Chris Pratt and Chris Hemsworth) and I would have liked to have seen more of it. The ending, although a false pretense, actually made me feel something. That's pretty rare for a superhero movie.

Just wrapped up the final season of The Americans. It was a strong finish to a series that never really had any serious dips in quality the entire way through. Well worth the watch.

Agreed. Amazing show, and one of the best finales I've ever seen. The entire garage scene was super intense and emotional. Great dialogue and wonderful acting from the whole cast.

Just finished episode three. This isn't going to last nearly long enough. I don't know why I was putting it off, it's every bit as good as I had hoped it would be since learning about it.

Between this and Arrested Development, Henry Winkler cracks me up so much
