I know you've said that one before recently, but gaddamn I love that one too. Any chance you know which Eldorado that's from?

I have him singing that at the beginning of Eldorado from Ottawa Roadside show in '93. I bought the bootleg CD from some guy in high school out of the trunk of his car. Those were interesting times, with much less internet sharing haha.

Was going to guess one of the '93 ARA's but wasn't sure which one. Thanks!

Those are some of my favourite boots - wish I had seen one (or more) of those shows in person.

When I see birds in formation I always think to myself, "It's agreed, we leave in small vees."

Same here. Always. I cannot see a group of Canada Geese and not envision them having this conversation. It always brings a smile to my face. It's little ways like this that Gord has affected my perception of the world around me.

I love slipping in Hip references, even when I know it will go right over the head of the person I'm talking to. Still makes me smile inside.

Gord has not only inhabited my speech, he's also informed my best moves. If I was ever a front man for a band my entire stage presence would be a complete Downie homage, not through conscious imitation, but simply because I've absorbed all of his moves and that's the way I dance to rock music. I barely know any other way. It even takes over when I'm driving. If the Hip is on the car stereo, my right hand is never on the wheel as it is constantly gesturing and pointing as Gord would have. If "Locked" is on, then it's right palm skyward pushing up as I sing "Let me out!". "Poets" on? Then it's tapping my heart and pointing outward with the finger gun while I sing "Spring starts when a heartbeats pounding".

When I stop to think about it, it amazes my how he's infiltrated my being. And, at least in my opinion, I'm the better for it!

Drop a caribou

want to be a nobody without peer
want to be a thought that's never done
want to shake your faith in human nature
want to break the hearts of everyone
want to be your wheezing screen door
want to be your stars of Algonquin
want to be your roaring floorboard
want to break the hearts of everyone

I had been known to throw out an "eat me completely" now and again back in the day, LOL

OH, and I can never paint a room without saying to someone "I'll do the rolling you do the detail"

I've been saying this a lot lately... 'The fucking hockey game.'

'Hey? Is the fucking hockey game on?'
