Hip Tour in Jan/Feb 2015

I've been thinking more about it since the announcement. This "could" be an interesting tour if pulled off properly. It definitely needs to be an "evening with" tour with two main sets. For the price it would be a complete rip off to have an opening act, then have The Hip do only 22 songs with 12 being FC and 10 most likely greatest hits. Hopefully it will be more in the range of 27-30 songs.

The real bummer is, it completely crushes the chance of a "20 Anniversary Day For Night" tour. I would have much rather had that!

HTZ fm is saying ticketmaster prices are incorrect ( at least for the St. Catherines gig)

they are saying the price range is $24.50 to $125

Whoever thinks this tour is going to sell out is nuts. Last time in winnipeg you could get tickets in the 100s 8 hours after tickets went on sale. The arena was probably 2/3 full. I remember in 2013 the official attendance was 9000.

I'm hoping they don't just go out and play Fully in order, tracks 1-12. I'd rather they mix the record in through the setlist, maybe even with a new song or two. This band always finds new ways to disappoint me however so I'm expecting FC + 12 greatest hits.

to each their own but i hope they play the cd in the same order live, as on the cd
reason # 1...i can pre-plan a piss break Wink

also the best of any band doing this concept was joel plaskett for the horseshoe tavern's 60th anniversary. he played 6 nights in a row and the first 5 nights he played in order a different cd each night. an incredible feat IMO. not to be topped.

i'm sure i could guess, but i'm curious when that would be for you...

Doing it in order makes the most sense to me too. Throw in other stuff in an extended encore though Smile

i'm excited about the Fully Completely tour, and seeing them live again at the Moncton Casino! Just wish they would go with reserved seating as opposed to GA standing when they play there!

There is reserved seating at the Moncton show this time around.

but guys, they're doing a free show tomorrow. so it's like you're getting 2 shows for the price of one ;-)

When they play these Fully Completely tours, they should play it in the order as it appears on the back cover. Ya know, just to Fuck with everyone.

Well the FC tour is the best news I've heard in a while. Will be great to hear Lionized, Pigeon Camera and We'll Go Too
(I thought I had heard We'll go too was on the do not play list so that's great!)
Thinking of making the trip to Victoria/Vancouver/Kelowna. Always wanted to see Vancouver & maybe the side trip up thru the mountains.
Can anyone tell me about these venues?

As will most fans, I too am sick of the greatest hits sets. Saw them 3 times for NFPA and each set was just too much of the same.
Saw About this Map though which was rarely played.
I don't think that album was the greatest but I understand every album can't be FC or IVL,etc.
I do think WATS was a great album, every track was enjoyable and the shows were spot on. Wore out that CD.
I think some bands do the old album thing to try & get back to the music writing mindset associated with some of their greatest albums.

Would love to hear FC and then Dire Wolf, Vaccination Scar, The Darkest One, Throwing off Glass, Tiger the Lion, The Bastard, The Bear,
Vapor Trails, Emperor Penguin, 700 ft Ceiling, Let's Stay Engaged, Greasy Jungle, Thugs, When the Weight Comes Down, Another Midnight, Bring it all Back, Cordelia. 17 songs, not much of which are likely. Would be my perfect extended set.

They're big ugly hockey arenas. I can't speak for acoustics.

Is anyone else a little concerned that maybe this is a "final lap" for The Hip as a band? Does it not seem odd that they have selected a 22nd anniversary to do this to? Heck, why did they not work on a new album and maybe hold off on doing this as a 25th anniversary tour in three years from now? Plus, that would also line up with the bands 35th anniversary almost as well.

Maybe just overthinking it, but its just a bit odd that they have selected a 22nd anniversary to do this on, like there is a rush to get it out of the way or something.
